The overnight numbers for the WrestleMania 37 fallout edition of SmackDown weren’t ideal (viewership did perk up in the final version released on Monday, but it always does by roughly 5%, so the overnight numbers are still a good gauge of what those are going to look like). But business picked back up on April 23, bringing the show back above an average of 2 million viewers for its two hour broadcast.
While good, that’s probably not what FOX will be most interested in. The ratings in the key demographics didn’t change from last week, but the .3 SmackDown scored among 18-34 year olds was the best among Broadcast Nationals on the night. When you can beat Shark Tank, you crow about it.
ABC’s reality juggernaut still won the night in 18-49 year olds. WWE and FOX took their usual second place spot there with a .5 rating.

And here’s our running tracker of overnight numbers for the current season. You can also access the tab of year one numbers here (all data still via Showbuzz Daily).
Tough competition next week from the NFL Draft, but WWE’s loaded the show up with two title matches. We’ll see how they fare in that fight.
