AEW Dynamite scores over one million viewers again

AEW on Twitter

The ratings and viewership data are in for this week’s (Apr. 21) episode of AEW Dynamite.

Per Showbuzz Daily, Dynamite netted 1,104,000 viewers for a 0.37 rating point in the 18-49 demographic.

This is a decrease of about 115,000 viewers from the prior week, and a noticeable drop from last week’s 0.44 demo rating. AEW remained in 2nd place in the demo rating for the night.

This was Dynamite’s second episode in the post-Wednesday night war era, which means we still don’t have a strong sense for what their new normal will be. Last week’s number seemed incredibly high, so I doubt that AEW is too concerned with the drop in viewers. Breaking one million viewers is still a great number, and something that Dynamite rarely achieved when opposed by NXT.

The drop in the demo rating looks like a bigger deal to me, because 0.37 is a number that Dynamite would occasionally reach even when opposed by NXT. At the end of the day though, these numbers are still impressive for AEW, and they’ll gladly sign up for being second place in the demo rating for the night once again.

Here’s a breakdown of AEW viewership and rating in the 18-49 demo over the last year:
