NXT’s numbers continue to trend up

The Tues., April 20 ratings weren’t quite to the moon, but they keep climbing.

While they’re not going to prompt the excitement or debate the way AEW’s Dynamite numbers did last week. signs continue to look good for NXT two weeks removed from the Wednesday Night War.

Showbuzz Daily reports the black-and-gold brand drew 841,000 viewers and a .23 rating among 18 - 49 year olds on April 20. That’s a more than 4% increase in both numbers over last Tuesday. Despite having little announced in advance, and with the audience for its Monday Night “lead in” (Raw) falling below two million, this is again up from the TakeOver: Stand & Deliver Night One show from two weeks ago.

NXT was way down in the ranking of cable originals, finishing 27th in the demo. But after Derek Chauvin was found guilty of murdering George Floyd at 5 p.m. Eastern, news programs dominated the night in a way they won’t every week.

The numbers remain good for Triple H & company on their new night. Even if they aren’t as flashy as their old rival’s.
