An old rivalry and a first-time match-up set for April 19 WWE Raw

During SmackDown last night (April 16), WWE announced two matches for next week’s Raw.

Both stem from events of last Monday’s WrestleMania 37 fallout show. One rekindles a rivalry with roots going back to WrestleMania 34. The other is somehow the first time two veterans have ever faced off in singles action.

Our ‘Mania rematch three years in the making comes from the women’s division. Charlotte Flair returned last week with an unapologetically me first attitude, and wrecked Asuka’s rematch with Rhea Ripley for the Raw Women’s title. Ripley’s already spoken on the matter. The Empress gets a chance to respond with her hands and feet.

The other stems from the WWE title scene, and April 12’s #1 contender Triple Threat. Drew McIntyre won that - and will “demand answers” from Bobby Lashley & MVP about being jumped by T-BAR & MACE after last Monday’s main event. The two men McIntyre defeated, Orton & Braun Strowman, will go one-on-one. These two have both been tied up with Bray Wyatt a lot in the careers, but somehow this will be the first time we’re getting the Viper vs. the Monster Among Men all by themselves.

Sound like a good way to build for May 16’s WrestleMania Backlash?
