Raquel Gonzalez won the NXT women’s championship from Io Shirai on night one of NXT TakeOver: Stand & Deliver.
Bianca Belair won the SmackDown women’s championship from Sasha Banks on night one of WrestleMania 37.
Rhea Ripley won the Raw women’s championship from Asuka on night two of WrestleMania 37.
They all wrestled in the inaugural Mae Young Classic back in 2017, all have spent time (or still are) grinding in NXT, and all have already achieved great things in their young pro wrestling careers. They are, in short, the future.
And the future damn sure looks bright.
That’s why it felt like such a genuinely special moment when both Belair and Ripley made a surprise appearance on NXT television this week to stand alongside Gonzalez and celebrate their collective success (while also putting over NXT, of course):
