WWE NXT RESULTS AND LIVE BLOG FOR APRIL 13

It’s Tuesday night, and you know what that means — or maybe you don’t since this is NXT’s first time airing on this day of the week! Either way we’re live from the Capitol Wrestling Center with the fallout from two nights of Takeover: Stand & Deliver, Let’s watch and enjoy!

NXT champion Karrion Kross is making his slow and deliberate walk to the ring with Scarlett leading the way as “The End Is Here” plays. They hit the ring and he has a mic in his right hand. “I told you — time always comes, full circle.” Scarlett massages the belt over his left shoulder. “It was only a matter of time until I was standing back in this ring. My ring. With this title — my title, as the NXT, champion! And as for Mr. Bálor, without a shadow of the doubt, one of the greatest to ever step in this ring of all time. Everywhere he’s ever gone championships have followed. You guys are rowdy tonight. When Bálor had this belt he went on a tear but unfortunately he believed that my emotions were a weakness. He didn’t understand that anything can become a driving force when you control it, and I control everything. Understand this! Now that time has allowed the course to correct itself, I am in charge of NXT until I say so. There’s a funny saying — when you’re at the top there’s nowhere to go but down. I can assure you that’s a complete and total lie. No one is going to out grind me, no one is going to out wrestle me, and NXT has the hungriest guys and girls on this brand, but I’m STARVING and I am INSATIABLE so this is how it’s going to go. You want this? Step up and roll the dice and I promise I will roll every one of you off your heads. I don’t care who you are, where you’ve been, what championships you’ve won, what you think you’re entitled to, or how many zeroes are at the end of your checks. I WILL FOLD EVERY SINGLE ONE OF YOU UNTIL THERE IS NO ONE LEFT. Because no matter where the time is told, in the end everyone pays the toll.” A Takeover highlight package follows.

MSK (champions) vs. Killian Dain & Drake Maverick (tag title match)

Nash Carter and Killian Dain start the match and Dain is easily overpowering him. He tags in Drake Maverick, Maverick trips him, Dain hits an elbow to the back and Maverick covers Nash for two. Nash hits a jaw jacker and tags in Wes Lee. Lee knocks Maverick down and starts pounding on the back of his head. He tries to whip Maverick into the corner but he ducks, trips Lee and hits a dropkick. Lee and Maverick fight in the corner, he goes to to the top and flips off the ropes to cover Lee for two. He tries to drag Lee over to Dain but Lee reverses Maverick into MSK’s corner and Carter tags back in for a bronco buster. Carter covers him for a near fall as Dain reaches out hoping Maverick will get to him for a tag. MSK cut off the ring with quick tags to work over Maverick, but he escapes and gets the tag. Dain hits a uranage but is kicked off the apron. Lee goes out to fight with him and gets run over on the floor. Commercial!

Maverick is shoved backward into Dain as we come back, which would have been a perfect opportunity for a blind tag, but he didn’t take it. Instead Nash Carter bumps him off the apron to the floor and MSK continue to cut off the ring to work Maverick over. An enraged Dain breaks up a near fall illegally, then drags Maverick’s carcass to the corner for a tag. Okay the referee should have disallowed that if any of this was even slightly on the level. Dain is hit by a corkscrew off the top rope but kicks out. Lee breaks up a near fall on Carter. Maverick runs in for a DDT. Carter is thrown to the corner for double super kicks. Dain hoists Carter up for a power bomb, Dain goes to bomb his partner on top, but Lee saves Carter. Cutter. Inside cradle. Forearm to the jaw. Wes Lee gets the tag and Carter dives to the outside to hit Dain. Maverick is left prone by MSK’s finisher for Lee to get the pin!

The winners and still NXT tag team champions: MSK

Alexander Wolfe gets in the ring to confront Killian Dain, which leads to Fabian Aichner and Marcel Barthel giving him a beatdown. Imperium stand with their arms behind their backs as WALTER’s music plays, with the bodies of the challengers laid out in front of them. We go to a video from earlier today of Mercedes Martinez showing up to demand her money from Robert Stone, and she starts choking out Aliyah when he doesn’t have it. Jessi Kamea steps up to stop her, setting up a match for later. Commercial!

When we come back from break we get a video package recapping the Adam Cole vs. Kyle O’Reilly feud, complete with highlights from night two of their match at Stand & Deliver.

Mercedes Martinez vs. Jessi Kamea

Kamea doesn’t even get an introduction. She’s already in the ring waiting for Martinez, and tries to get a hot start to the match, with Martinez laid across the ropes to be choked from behind. Kamea biels her across the ring and the beating continues with a cow pattern boot to the back. She goes to the second rope for a flying elbow and Aliyah yells “Did you see that?” Wade Barrett says yes. Martinez avoids a crossbody and hits a jumping knee to the jaw. She hoists Kamea to her shoulders and plants her for the pin.

The winner of this contest: Mercedes Martinez

That was a glorified squash match. Martinez chases down Robert Stone and slams him into the plexiglass to start choking him out. He pulls out a wad of cash and she takes it, and then goes over to the announce desk to yell. “Raquel González, congratulations champ, but here’s a warning — I’m coming for you!”

McKenzie Mitchell is backstage with The Way. Gargano: “You know what this match is McKenzie? Say it with me, CU-CKOO, BANANAS.” Theory: “Tonight I play no more games with Dexter Lumis.” LeRae: “Tonight we’re going to handle business.” Hartwell: “And I just hope I end up alone in the ring with Lumis so I can take care of my business.” Gargano flips out at this and then gets them to all do THE WAYYYYY hand gesture with McKenzie. Santos Escobar is on his way to the ring with Legado Del Fantasma as we go to break!

Isaiah Scott is in the recording studio. “It’s time for Swerve to move on, but I can’t do that without getting rid of you Leon. After tonight, Swerve and Leon are DONE.”

Santos Escobar’s open challenge

Escobar: “Main events, Takeovers, the emperor of lucha libre stole the show at Takeover. And now I’m the undisputed champion. Campeon. Just like my father was, just like my son will be. We are warriors, we will always fight, that’s why tonight I’m going to lay out an open challenge to whoever...”

KUSHIDA has answered the challenge! He hits Escobar with a dropkick before the ref can even ring the bell to start the match. Escobar sells his jaw in front of the announce desk and he’s laughing about it. He gets back into the ring and the bell gets us started!

Santos Escobar (champion) vs. KUSHIDA (cruiserweight title match)

KUSHIDA goes for the hoverboard lock early but Escobar gets a rope break. KUSHIDA works the shoulder for a hoverboard lock, and teases a dive to the outside as Escobar bails out to the floor, then mocks Escobar with a dance inside the ring as we go to commercial!

We come back from break and Escobar has regained control of the match, picking up KUSHIDA to swing him into the ring steps on the outside. KUSHIDA screams in agony as Escobar works him over on the ring post. He rolls back in gingerly and Escobar repeatedly kicks him in the jaw. He goes for a pin but KUSHIDA gets a boot on the ropes. Escobar works the right arm and the ref looks on closely to see if KUSHIDA will give up. Escobar: “You’re a loser! The nerve of you! Coming out tonight, ruining my celebration.” Barrett: “Escobar can commentate while he fights. The man’s brilliant!”

Escobar wrenches both arms from behind in the bow & arrow with a knee to KUSHIDA’s back. KUSHIDA gets to his feet with chops to the chest and neck and hits the ropes, but Escobar cuts him off with a boot to the face. He pulls KUSHIDA back up, puts him on his shoulders, but KUSHIDA escapes and hits an atomic drop, a dropkick, a right hand, a kick to the arm, and he goes for the hoverboard lock before Escobar escapes. Palm strike to the jaw in the corner! KUSHIDA climbs up but Escobar knocks him down. Kick to the right arm. KUSHIDA climbs back up for a suplex! Bridging suplex and Escobar gets a boot on the ropes to break up the pin. That was close! The NeXTras stomp in approval. KUSHIDA goes for another hoverboard lock and Escobar spins out before an enzuigiri. KUSHIDA hits his own and both men are down!

Both men trade forearms and kicks as they get to their feet before Escobar nails KUSHIDA with the backstabber. He goes for the phantom driver, KUSHIDA escapes and rolls Escobar up, Escobar reverses it, KUSHIDA flips over him and hooks the legs while practically sitting on Escobar’s face... and he’s GOT THE PIN. Wait, what??

Your winner and NEW cruiserweight champion: KUSHIDA!!

Santos Escobar is beside himself in the ring. KUSHIDA is celebrating at the top of the ramp as the NeXTras chant his name and smoke pours through the building. He’s hugging the belt and rolling all around the entrance ramp. That’s quite a shocker for the Takeover fallout edition of NXT! After this we go to a video of Tommaso Ciampa and Timothy Thatcher.

Ciampa: “Life has a way of testing us, sometimes in the least expected of ways. The Dusty Classic tested our strength as a team. WALTER and Imperium tested our will, our loyalty. Did we win every fight? No. Did we pass every test? I think so. And now we come out on the other side stronger as a unit, ready to face a new NXT, a new landscape.”

Thatcher: “New NXT champion, new NXT tag team champion. What path to choose? It’s standard procedure for us. We finish what we start.”

Ciampa: “MSK. We’re coming!” Ciampa knocks his chair down and storms off while Timothy Thatcher chuckles. Raquel González walks to the ring with Dakota Kai trailing behind her as we go to commercial break!

William Regal congratulates KUSHIDA after the break but Jordan Devlin interrupts. “Six time IWGP junior champion and now the cruiserweight champion. That makes you the man right? Except Escobar... who did he ever beat right? I mean just because you run up a ladder quicker than someone doesn’t make you a better wrestler, you know what I’m saying? Now see I’m the man around here, I’m the best wrestler in the world, and what you are KUSHIDA is a lucky man. The travel Gods are smiling on you, because I’m going home now for a little while, but I’ll be back. Yeah. And when I come back, I’m coming for that, so hold onto it tight.” KUSHIDA: “ANY TIME.”

Dakota Kai introduces Raquel González and the champ makes her way to the ring as the NeXTras chant “YOU DESERVE IT.” González: “A year and a half ago was the biggest night in NXT history. NXT goes live on USA Network, and I was supposed to have my big debut, but I wasn’t ready. I went home that night and I swore that would never happen again. So I busted my ass to move faster, train harder, lift heavier. A year and a half later I stand here as your NXT women’s champion! The one person who recognized my dedication was Dakota Kai. Without Dakota Kai I don’t debut in Portland, we don’t become the first women’s tag team champions, and I sure as hell don’t stand here as your new NXT women’s champion.”

Kai: “You know for 14 months we dominated the best women’s division in the world.”

González: “All due respect to Io Shirai. She was a great champion, BUT the Raquel González era has officially begun.” The lights go out and music starts to play before a spotlight shines n the top of the stage. Franky Monet and her dog are here!

Monet: “Congratulations, champ. Felicidades campeona. I’m here to formally introduce myself to you and the world, I am WERA LOCA, I am Franky Monet! And now the best division on this planet has gotten a little bit shinier, a little bit bougie-er, and a whole lot better. And as you are at the top of my division, you’ll be seeing a whole lot more of me.”

González: “Ahh mi amor you’re lucky I’m in a good mode tonight. If you interrupt me like that again, that cute little poochy, I’m going to shove him straight up your culo.”

Monet: “Okay cabrona. I will see you every single Tuesday, CHAMP.”

We’re not done with the interruptions yet. WWE Raw’s own women’s champion RHEA RIPLEY is here! She’s got the title and she’s got something to say to Raquel González too. At first they stare at each other, then they fist bump with the title belts, and they hug. And if that wasn’t enough SmackDown’s women’s champion BIANCA BELAIR is now here too! All three fist bump their belts and hold them high in the air, smiling and celebrating with their gold as the NeXTRas chant “N-X-T” and then they all have a group hug in the middle of the ring before holding up their title belts again.

Pete Dunne: “Last week I out-wrestled KUSHIDA and showed it’s not just talk, I’m the best technical wrestler not just in NXT but in all of WWE. If anybody else thinks different step up and prove me wrong. Now it’s time to get focused on what I came back to NXT for — championship, gold.” Commercial break!

Video package of William Regal putting over the fact he signed Sarray, the Warrior of the Sun, noting that she will debut next week! Regal is interviewed afterward: “This is an incredible acquisition for NXT. I am so excited that Sarray is actually going to be here next week. It took a few years but I’m so glad. I apologize but I have some business to attend to.” In his office Roderick Strong is waiting with a sealed envelope. “I’m done.” Regal: “You’re sure?” He nods. “I can’t say it wasn’t trying at times dealing with you, but you were the ultimate professional, and you’re welcome back here any time.” On with the show!

Leon Ruff vs. Isaiah “Swerve” Scott

Ruff and Scott jaw jack even after the bell rings. Scott tries to shove him away but Ruff takes him down for some ground and pound. Scott elevates him and flapjacks him on his face. Ruff responds with a dropkick to send Scott outside, and out on the floor he’s selling his right elbow and hand. Ruff senses the injury and attacks. Scott floats Ruff to the apron and knocks him down onto it with a strike. He drags Ruff back in and hits a body slam, then goes to the second rope for an elbow to the back of the head for two.

Ruff tries to whip Scott, gets reversed, but hits a clothesline. Ruff knocks Scott down and hits an uppercut as he gets up. Scott floats him to the apron again. Ruff avoids him for a bit but Scott hits a Russian leg sweep and tosses Ruff out, then kicks him right in the jaw to lay him out on the black mats as we go to a commercial.

Scott is unloading with chops and trash talking Ruff in the corner as we return from break. “Think we’re playing games?” Another chop. “I told you we’re done. We’re done Ruff!” Scott steps back winds up and hits another chop, but this fires up Ruff for his own offense and a series of clotheslines. Ruff comes off the ropes with a springboard cutter and Scott rolls out. Ruff goes to the top rope and backflips to the outside before throwing Scott back in. Missile dropkick. Near fall! Replay of Ruff flipping and flying. Ruff pulls Scott up to the top but gets shoved off. Pele kick to the right arm of Scott. Ruff goes back up again. Both are standing on the top rope. Hurricanrana from the top for Ruff. Another near fall!

Ruff pulls Scott up and they trade fists and chops. Ruff goes to hit the ropes but Scott catches him with an uppercut. Ruff counters Scott with a head scissor and then a slingshot forearm, but Scott hits a clothesline and goes for a finish but gets cradled for a near fall! Scott goes to the top rope, Ruff goes for a ‘rana, but Scott escapes and Ruff eats the top turnbuckle. Scott finally finishes Ruff for the pin with the JML Driver.

Your winner of the contest: Isaiah “Swerve” Scott

Zoey Stark and Mercedes Martinez exchange words backstage before another break!

Video package promoting Imperium’s goal to dominate NXT. Scott brags to McKenzie Mitchell that he took Ruff out, but Ruff knocks him down and shoves a storage locker into his head before officials pull him off. Clearly it’s not over yet!

The Way vs. Shotzi Blackheart, Ember Moon, Dexter Lumis & Bronson Reed

Bronson Reed and Dexter Lumis were already in the ring since there are only 10 minutes left on the live broadcast (not counting the overrun of course) so Shotzi Blackheart and Ember Moon are the last to arrive with the TCB tank. The whole of The Way come out together after them as the NeXTras boo. As you’d expect it’s mixed tag rules with the women only facing the women and the men only facing the men, but with four people on each side of the ring things break down very quickly and the men and women are fighting anyway — much to the chagrin of announcer Wade Barrett. Dexter Lumis and Johnny Gargano face off when things settle down, but Lumis gets distracted by Indi Hartwell, and LeRae drags her off the apron before they can smooch. Gargano jumps him from behind to send us to the break!

Bronson Reed is taking out every man in sight when we come back. Stacked up avalanche on Gargano and Theory. Both men are on Reed’s shoulders for a Samoan back drop. Hartwell breaks up the pinfall and everybody except for Lumis is in the ring. Hartwell plants Ember Moon and Candice LeRae kicks Shotzi Blackheart in the chin. She goes to the top rope but Reed wags a finger no no no. She jumps off the ropes and bounces off him like a pinball. Lumis gets back in the ring and gives Theory a spinebuster. Ember Moon flies into Gargano on the outside.LeRae dives outside to give Lumis a DDT! Reed picks Blackheart up and throws her onto the pile outside. This match is a total cluster but the NeXTras love it!

Back in the ring Lumis tries to put The Silence on Gargano, but Hartwell flops to her back like she’s been injured. Lumis tries to help her up and Theory lays him out with the distraction. Hartwell gets pissed and throws Theory out then lays herself out in front of Lumis again, who picks her up and carries her to the back. She looks at the camera and winks and gives a thumbs up! Meanwhile Theory gets rocked with a forearm from Reed. Reed tells Ember Moon to climb up on his shoulders and she hits the Eclipse! LeRae throws her out, Gargano crotches Reed on the top rope and nails him with forearms, then climbs up but gets thrown off right onto Theory. LeRae goes up and tries to herk Reed up but is left dangling in the air. Blackheart gets under her to dump her onto Gargano, and Reed hits the tsunami on the North American champion for the pin!

The winners: Shotzi Blackheart, Ember Moon, Bronson Reed and (the absent) Dexter Lumis

That’s it for NXT!
