WrestleMania Backlash gets its WWE championship match

Drew McIntyre’s Twitter

Bobby Lashley beat up Riddle to start this week’s episode of Monday Night Raw and then waited a few hours to hold an “All Mighty Address” that was really just a way for WWE to set us up for whatever will come next at the top of the card for the red brand. Who will be challenging Lashley for the WWE championship at the upcoming WrestleMania Backlash pay-per-view (PPV) scheduled for May 16, 2021, at the ThunderDome at the Yuengling Center in Tampa, Florida?

To figure that out, a triple threat was booked for the main event of Raw pitting Drew McIntyre (who doesn’t actually have much of a case to be in the match but whatever) vs. Braun Strowman (who beat Shane McMahon in a Steel Cage match at WrestleMania) vs. Randy Orton (who beat The Fiend at WrestleMania and is finally done with all that).

Naturally, it was McIntyre who won and will be getting a rematch with Lashley.

Yep.

As of now, this is the only match official for WrestleMania Backlash.
