WrestleMania 37 results: Sheamus bloodies Riddle, wins U.S. title

WrestleMania’s Twitter

After some more wacky fun backstage with his bro dude RVD and his fellow Hall of Famer The Great Khali...

...United States champion Riddle scootered his way down the ramp at Raymond James Stadium. His defense against Sheamus was the fourth match on April 11’s Night Two of WrestleMania 37.

Once the bell rang, there no stoner jokes, and the only “bro”s were the challenger’s kicks. This was a hard-hitting affair with lots of big spots thats seemed designed to make Riddle look great.

He couldn’t put the Celtic Warrior away after any of them, though, as he former WWE champ’s toughness was also on display. After surviving a Bro-ton and a pair of submissions, Sheamus went for a super-White Noise, but slipped and had to settle for the regular version, A drop knee from the top followed, but could only get two.

Riddle fought back, and looked to turn the tide with his springboard moonsault. But he leapt right into a Brogue Kick OUT OF NOWHERE. It caught him right in the mouth, too, so he not only lost his title, but he might need some oral surgery.

Sheamus, on the other hand, will celebrate the start of his third United States title reign.
