Natalya & Tamina won WrestleMania 37 Night One’s Tag Turmoil to earn a shot at the WWE Women’s Tag Team titleholders Nia Jax & Shayna Baszler. The legacy duo have been on tear of late. They posed a real threat to the champs, who haven’t been on the same page since, well, since they first started tagging - but especially since Jax got entangled with Reginald.

Carmella’s former sommelier wasn’t out with Nia & Shayna however, and the crowd was amped for a showdown between the two Samoans.

It was a showdown between the match’s two submission specialists that set up the second act of this one. Baszler’s work on Natalya’s leg while Jax slammed Tamina on the outset pit the champ’s in charge.

Tamina recovered to say Nattie from a three count after a powerbomb, and then came in hot when she finally got the tag. The action built to another showdown between the hosses, and some trash talk from Jax (that the Peacock censors were slow on). But with the Raymond James Stadium crowd cheering her on, a Tamina Samoan Drop couldn’t three, and a Superfly Splash came up empty.

It was Nattie’s turn for the hot tag, and she turned Jax over into a Sharpshooter. Unfortunately, Nia wasn’t legal. Baszler came up behind her, locked on the Kirifuda Clutch, and Natalya couldn’t respond to the referee.

Most of us figured we’d get a title change here, and probably one involving Reggie. We were wrong.
