The build was stupid. Literally, Shane McMahon and Braun Strowman’s WrestleMania 37 feud was based around Shane O’Mac calling the Monster Among men dumb. A lot.
But you know what? When an angry Strowman first went after McMahon in a steel cage on Sat., April 10 the 25,000 at Tampa’s Raymond James Stadium were ready for some violence.
Shane had a plan to use Strowman’s rage against him, and had Elias & Jaxson Ryker blindside him on his way into the cage. He then targeted the big man’s leg with a variety of weapons. It seemed it might just pay off.
That strategy didn’t lead to quick win, though. Braun kept his opponent from escaping the ring, and managed to toss him off multiple sides of the steel structure. But his leg did give out on him when he went for his running powerslam.
More interference, and a toolbox , put Strowman down and gave McMahon a clear path to victory. But the Chairman’s son stopped to taunt his victim, and as we’d known all along, Shane picked the wrong one!
Atop the cage, Braun grabbed his nemesis by his baseball jersey and screamed “who’s stupid now?” Then he threw the 51 year old McMahon all the way down to the mat!
For everyone that’s ever been called a dummy, the Monster then hit his finisher.
RAWR! Take that bullies!
