In order to find opponents for Nia Jax & Shayna Baszler to defend the WWE women’s tag team titles against on night two (Sun., April 11, 2021) of WrestleMania 37 at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida, the promotion held a Tag Team Turmoil match on night one.
Tag Team Turmoil is the duo based version of a Gauntlet match.
We opened with Lana & Naomi taking on the makeshift team of Carmella & Billie Kay, who formed literally less than 24 hours before this match made it to air. Naturally, they took out the babyface duo many — at least on this staff — pegged as potential winners.
Liv Morgan & Ruby Riott came in and disposed of that duo fairly quickly, however, isolating Kay and angering Carmella, who left Liv laid out with a superkick.
Mandy Rose & Dana Brooke were out next, and this happened:

Ouch!
Then they lost when Liv reversed Brooke and pinned her for the three count. That left just Natalya & Tamina, the last team in to decide who would go on to tomorrow night. Considering how heavy they were pushed, relatively speaking, on television leading up to this it felt like only a matter of time.
Sure enough, Nattie faked a Sharpshooter before tagging Tamina in so she could hit the Superfly Splash to get the pin and the victory.
