Braun Strowman & Adam Pearce came close to winning the Raw tag team titles but that makeshift team quickly broke up and the former is now barking up the McMahon family tree looking for some respect. The Hurt Business, meanwhile, have already moved on to a familiar foe who spend much of their time in the title scene.
Shelton Benjamin and Cedric Alexander originally won the straps from The New Day back at TLC to close out 2020. They’ve since embarked upon what can only be described as a thoroughly mediocre reign, though that has just as much to do with a lack of strong options in the Raw tag team division than anything they’ve done.
So it’s on: The New Day will challenge The Hurt Business for the Raw tag team titles on next week’s episode of Monday Night Raw. That show just happens to be six days before Fastlane, the next pay-per-view on the schedule.
Also set for next week is Mustafa Ali getting his shot at Matt Riddle and the United States championship. Ali was on Twitter just yesterday complaining about having pinned the U.S. champion and still not being named the number one contender to the title.
He gets his shot next week.
We’ll just see if the turmoil within RETRIBUTION plays any part in how all that plays out.
