The Miz’s WWE title rematch goes about the same as last week

Automatic rematches were supposed to be a thing of the past in WWE but The Miz still got one at the start of this week’s episode of Monday Night Raw. Indeed, Bobby Lashley, with a slick new entrance video playing him in, had to defend the WWE championship against the man he absolutely destroyed to win it just last week.

How do you think it went this time around?

Really, it was notable more for who was shown watching it backstage — Drew McIntyre. Byron Saxton referred to him as “the presumptive next challenger” for the title. All signs continue to point to Lashley vs. McIntyre being the plan for WrestleMania 37 in early April in Tampa.

For now, Lashley had to take care of The Miz, and that’s exactly what he did. Miz actually got some offense in this time around, but it was few and far between. In the end, he tapped to The Hurt Lock, and that was that.
