When NXT put their Cruiserweight champion Santos Escobar in a feud with the undefeated Karrion Kross, everyone wondered how they’d book the eventual match between the two men. Kross wasn’t going to take his first loss in a one-off program between TakeOvers, but Escobar has too much talent & charisma to get squashed by anyone.
The answer came on the Feb. 24 episode, where Escobar enlisted his Legado Del Fantasma henchmen Joaquin Wilde & Raul Mendoza, a box truck, and every ounce of plunder between said vehicle and the Capitol Wrestling Center ring to take Kross to the limit. Santos and LDF looked good, but they still lost. So before they moved into their next storyline, something had to be done to heat the former Hijo Del Fantasma back up.
Enter Breezango and Ever-Rise.
Tyler Breeze & Fandango are former NXT Tag champs. Chase Parker & Matt Martel are extremely entertaining. Both teams are fan favorites. But getting beaten up is one of the things they’re on the roster to do.
Now Escobar & the boys can head forward bragging about they landed 75% of them on Matt Camp’s weekly NXT Injury Report.
Here’s Camp’s latest video, and the full list of what it covers:
- Kacy Catanzaro: partially torn LCL; timetable for return unknown
- Matt Martel & Chase Parker: undisclosed injuries; medically cleared as tolerated
- Tyler Breeze: undisclosed injury; day-to-day
