Roderick Strong’s post-Undisputed future is in doubt (UPDATED)

After being attacked by Adam Cole and rejected by Kyle O’Reilly, Roderick Strong tried to get on with his post-Undisputed ERA career tonight in the opening match of NXT.

Strong’s opponent’s plan was clear, and smart. After all, Cameron Grimes didn’t make all that Game Stop and Dogecoin money by not being smart. Here, he was going to use Roddy’s recent trauma to get into his head.

It helped initially, but Strong rallied and got a couple of nearfalls on Grimes. But after a particularly close one after a superplex...

...Cameron reached into his trunks and pulled something out. The assumption was that it was a weapon - and it was. This one was for mental warfare.

The Hillbilly Millionaire dropped the object after taking an Olympic Slam. It was a TUE armband. When Roddy say it, he was thrown off. That was the opening Grimey needed to hit the Cave In and pick up the win.

UPDATE: Strong is booked for the Battle Royal to earn a spot in the North American Championship Eliminator Gauntlet next Wednesday, but just walked out of the Capitol Wrestling Center and told McKenzie Mitchell he’s done!
