Damian Priest debuted on the WWE main roster two months ago at Royal Rumble 2021. He was immediately paired up with Bad Bunny, and the two allies have been dealing with the obnoxious duo of The Miz and John Morrison ever since.
Rumors immediately spread about Bad Bunny training at the WWE Performance Center for a tag team match at WrestleMania 37 involving all four men. It seemed like a logical plan; Bad Bunny is a celebrity attraction whose lack of experience in the ring can be hidden better in this kind of match.
But WWE put a dent in those plans on this week’s Raw, when a singles match between Miz and Bunny was booked for night one of WrestleMania, on Apr. 10. The graphic for the match made it clear that Priest and Morrison would simply be ringside for the match, instead of active participants. What’s up with that?
According to a new report from PW Insider, WWE didn’t announce the expected tag team match because Priest and Morrison are both dealing with minor injuries right now. It might be changed back to a tag team match if Priest and Morrison are cleared in time, but for now WWE is just playing it safe. Given reports that the go-home episode of Raw is being taped just five days from now, this could be a situation where Priest and Morrison are added to the match on the day of the event.
Would you prefer to see Bad Bunny in a singles match or a tag team match at WrestleMania 37?
