This was an incredible spot during the Banks vs. Jax match on SmackDown

Sasha Banks defended her SmackDown women’s championship in the opening match of this week’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown against Nia Jax. It was mostly a way to continue teasing out the tension between Banks and the woman who will challenge her for her title at WrestleMania 37, Bianca Belair.

To that end, they managed to get on the same page and Banks retained her title. It came after some help from Shayna Baszler, one half of the women’s tag team champions, who tried to interfere and ended up kicking Jax while she was down. That led to the finish, with Banks pinning Jax.

That’s the final build to Banks & Belair vs. Jax & Baszler for the WWE women’s tag team titles at Fastlane this Sun., Mar. 21, 2021, in St. Petersburg, Florida.
