Charly Caruso reportedly ‘done appearing on WWE programming’

Earlier this week, reports came out that Charly Caruso had “backstage heat”. The backstage interviewer and host hadn’t been on Raw for a couple weeks, and we’d speculated about her future with WWE when they hired her replacement for Raw Talk.

A new report from PWInsider doesn’t specifically mention heat, or the purported reason (Caruso appearing late for interviews with talent, specifically Randy Orton and Sheamus). But in passing on that sources told them Caruso will not be back on WWE programming and is expected to leave the company when her current deal expires, they do mention a scene from the Feb. 8 Raw Talk where she seemingly inadvertently used R-Truth’s nickname for Damian Priest as a double entendre.

Insider, however, has the wrong date for the Raw Talk where that happened, and implies she hasn’t worked since. In fact, she worked both the Feb. 15 and Feb. 22 editions after Priest’s appearance. Kayla Braxton then worked the Mar. 1 show, and R-Truth’s new co-host Kevin Patrick debuted on Mar. 8. So if that moment had anything to do with Caruso’s status, it took them a couple weeks to get upset about it.

The most likely scenario is that Charly’s ESPN commitments are responsible for the entire situation. Under her real last name Arnolt, she’s been working for the Disney-owned network since 2018. She occasionally appears on their popular First Take television series, and recently began hosting a spinoff podcast, “First Take, Her Take”.

Whatever’s going on, we wish Arnolt the best, and will always remember her WWE work fondly.
