The ratings and viewership data are in for this week’s (Mar. 17) NXT and AEW television shows.
Per Showbuzz Daily, Dynamite netted 768,000 viewers for a 0.28 rating point in the 18-49 demographic. NXT checked in with 597,000 viewers for a 0.13 rating point in the same 18-49 demo.
For AEW, this is an increase of about 25,000 viewers from the prior week, with a big drop from last week’s 0.32 demo rating. For NXT, viewership fell by 94,000 viewers from the prior week, and the demo rating was significantly down from last week’s 0.18.
AEW moved down from 4th to 6th place in the demo rating for the night, while NXT dropped from 25th to 42nd place.
There was strong curiosity about what AEW’s numbers would be given Dynamite featured its first ever women’s main event and promoted it for a week. It resulted in Dynamite’s second lowest demo rating thus far in 2021. The number did remain in the top 10 for the night, so based on past comments from Tony Khan, that still calls for A Little Bit of the Bubbly. Overall, the total viewership of 768,000 ranks 5th highest out of the 11 episodes in 2021.
NXT’s numbers plummeted in both viewership and the demo rating. Even with Dynamite’s second lowest demo rating of 2021, NXT’s number wasn’t even half of that mark. This was also NXT’s second lowest demo rating of 2021. Total viewership dropped back under 600,000 for the third time this year.
