A&E’s Stone Cold Biography covers familiar ground, still looks awesome

courtesy A&E Networks

We’re still more than a month away from the premiere of A&E’s series of Biography specials on major WWE figures. But since this is Steve Austin Day, and the first documentary is focused on old Stone Cole, the network and their partners at The ‘E decided it would be a good time to drop a sneak preview on us.

The seven-ish minutes they give us of the two hour show looks like it will cover territory that’s quite familiar to wrestling fans. But the folks involved on both sides of the camera are such gifted storytellers that it’s still enthralling. A&E’s also getting access to some folks we don’t hear from a lot like Vince McMahon, and ones we may not see on a WWE-associated project in the future like Jim Ross.

Check it out:

ABOUT “BIOGRAPHY: ‘STONE COLD’ STEVE AUSTIN” - Directed by Jake Rogal and Executive Produced by Jason Hehir (“The Last Dance,” “Andre The Giant”), this film traces the story of the man who became WWE’s biggest star in the 90s. “Stone Cold” Steve Austin’s authentic, fiery personality epitomized WWE’s “Attitude Era” and transformed him into a pop culture icon. After nearly being paralyzed by a neck injury, Austin made one of the greatest comebacks in WWE history. He was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2009. “Biography: ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin” premieres on Sunday, April 18 at 8pm ET/PT on A&E. #WWEonAE

I doubt there’s much on the show we haven’t heard before. But will I be watching?

Hell yeah.
