Keith Lee is back, and could leave Elimination Chamber as U.S. champ

WWE’s Twitter

We hadn’t seen former NXT & North American champion Keith Lee on Raw since Jan. 11. He was in the midst of a program that seemed to be leading toward either teaming with Sheamus, feuding with him, or both.

Then he disappeared with nary a mention, missing three episodes of television and Royal Rumble... a big deal since Lee’s moment with Brock Lesnar in last year’s Rumble was one of the reasons everyone was excited for his move to the main roster.

The Limitless One’s absence will probably never officially be addressed. Whatever the story behind it, he returned on the Feb. 8 edition of the red show. Sheamus has moved on, but WWE immediately worked Lee into another upper mid-card program.

After real-life bros Riddle & Lee discussed the former’s failed attempts to take the United States title off Bobby Lashley, the two men worked a match. Keith won it with a Spirit Bomb, and during their sportsmanlike exchange after the bell. Lashley attacked them both. The CEO of The Hurt Business smashed Lee with the steel steps. Message sent.

The set-up was clear, and since Bro’s title shot last week ended in disqualification, he’s still in the mix, too.

Sound good? This makes three matches official for Elimination Chamber on Sun., Feb. 21:

- Drew McIntyre (c) vs. Randy Orton vs. Jeff Hardy vs. AJ Styles vs. Sheamus vs. Miz in an Elimination Chamber match for the WWE championship

- Lacey Evans vs. Asuka (c) for the Raw Women’s title

- Riddle vs. Keith Lee vs. Bobby Lashley (c) for the United States championship
