The powers that be within WWE just can’t seem to keep from going back to this well.
WWE Champion Drew McIntyre and Randy Orton feuded for what felt like all of 2020, wrestling in five singles matches, a triple threat, and two six man tags spanning multiple pay-per-views and episodes of television spread over many months. It finally came to an end when they branched off to head into programs with other wrestlers.
Orton has been dealing with The Fiend and Alexa Bliss while McIntyre just beat Goldberg at Royal Rumble and is now staring at defending his title against former friend Sheamus. Despite this, WWE has once again booked the two in a non-title match for this week’s episode of Monday Night Raw.
This also comes following the announcement of McIntyre responding to Sheamus’ attack from last week.
Elsewhere, it’s been announced that Charlotte Flair and Lacey Evans will have a face-to-face confrontation following the latter costing the former the tag team titles at Royal Rumble.
