WWE Elimination Chamber 2021 match card, rumors

WWE.com

The next pay-per-view (PPV) on the WWE schedule is the Elimination Chamber event set to take place on Sun., Feb. 21, 2021, at the ThunderDome at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Florida. This is, of course, the annual post-Royal Rumble showcase.

We’re a couple weeks out from showtime, and nothing is officially set for the card. But there are two championship matches that are expected to happen soon:

  • Drew McIntyre vs. Sheamus (WWE championship)

The story is that these guys were friends for 20 years, but Sheamus turned his back on McIntyre because he wants to be the WWE champion. In response to Sheamus’ betrayal, McIntyre said, “You want the match? You’ve got it.” Elimination Chamber 2021 seems like a good night for the match to take place, though it’s not set in stone.

  • Shayna Baszler & Nia Jax vs. Naomi & Lana (Women’s tag team championship)

On last week’s (Feb. 1) episode of Raw, Naomi and Lana became the number one contenders to the Women’s tag team titles by winning a triple threat tag team match. Baszler & Jax are the champs, so this match will be coming up on either Raw or at Elimination Chamber.

Elsewhere, if McIntyre has his hands busy with Sheamus, that means Roman Reigns could be defending the Universal championship in an Elimination Chamber match. Some potential opponents who could fill out that chamber include Kevin Owens, Seth Rollins, Cesaro, Shinsuke Nakamura, Big E, or Daniel Bryan.

It’s expected that there will be a women’s Elimination Chamber match as well. The Raw roster seems better suited for it than the SmackDown side, so the aforementioned Women’s tag team championship match might have to be put on Raw in order to make room for a Women’s Elimination Chamber match on this pay-per-view. Some of the top contenders for Asuka’s Raw women’s championship in this hypothetical chamber match could include Charlotte Flair, Lacey Evans, Nia Jax, Shayna Baszler, Alexa Bliss, or Naomi.

Meanwhile, the return of Bray Wyatt has been rumored ever since he was burned to death by Randy Orton at TLC 2020. With Alexa Bliss continuing to get involved in Randy’s business, perhaps Wyatt will be showing his face in time for a crazy gimmick match with Orton at Elimination Chamber.

Paul Heyman has strongly suggested that Adam Pearce will reveal the Raw main event for Elimination Chamber on tomorrow night’s (Feb. 8) episode. With only two weeks to go until showtime, we should know a lot more about the card after this week’s television.
