Intercontinental title Triple Threat, more Mysterio/Corbin set for SmackDown

New, 9 comments

In addition to the usual questions about the Royal Rumble winners, WWE’s finally gotten around to booking a couple concrete things for SmackDown tonight (Feb. 5).

Neither is terribly surprising. One if pretty exciting, though, at least for my money. Even on a show with a lot of highlights, the storyline involving Sami Zayn, Apollo Crews and Big E has been particularly entertaining. Two weeks ago while Crews was challenging for E’s Intercontinental title, disgruntled former champ Zayn kept us from getting a clear winner. They’ll all be legal in this one...

Less exciting is the latest round of the Mysterios vs. King Corbin. Over the past three weeks, Corbins beaten Rey once and Dominik twice. The younger Mysterio got a measure of revenge when he eliminated the Lone Wolf from the Rumble on Sunday, and now we’re getting this.

Even WWE.com sounds worn out by it...

The site’s preview also promises Edge and teases a showdown with Universal champion Roman Reigns. It doesn’t mention Women’s Rumble winner Bianca Belair, but she was promoted earlier in the week and will almost certainly be on the show.
