It was never entirely clear why Royal Rumble winner Bianca Belair was taking her sweet time revealing which champion she would challenge for their title at WrestleMania 37. It always seemed obvious SmackDown Women’s Champion Sasha Banks would be the choice.
Not surprisingly, she was.
During this week’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown, Belair was set to make her announcement when she was interrupted by Reginald, who keeps showing up for no reason at all, and then Banks, who said what we were all thinking — just cut the crap and choose her, because that’s the match to make.
And so it’s made: Bianca Belair will challenge Sasha Banks for the SmackDown women’s championship at WrestleMania 37 on April 10 or 11 at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida.
The updated WrestleMania 37 match card:
- Roman Reigns (c) vs. Edge (Universal championship)
- Sasha Banks (c) vs. Bianca Belair (SmackDown women’s championship)
