Cageside Community Star Ratings for Elimination Chamber 2021

WWE.com

After every WWE PPV, we ask you all to rank each match on the show using the star rating system made famous by Wrestling Observer’s Dave Meltzer.

The results are in from Elimination Chamber, the next stop on the Road to WrestleMania 37. Here’s a look at how our little corner of the wrestle web graded what happened in the ThunderDome on Feb. 21 - and how our subjective grades compare to Meltzer’s.

At the top of the list, our ratings line up with the “Match of the Night” poll from right after the show ended. After the two Chamber matches, those rankings differ. In particular, Miz’s Money in the Bank cash-in was divisive among Cagesiders. People who liked the storytelling, really liked it. Those who didn’t, really didn’t.

Uncle Dave didn’t rate the PPV’s Universal and WWE title matches, which collectively clocked in at two minutes of bell-to-bell “action”. For the bouts which received star ratings from both The Observer and cSs, we were pretty much on the same page - the differences were all less than a half star.

Overall, we liked the show less than last month’s Royal Rumble. Matches on January’s PPV had an average rating of 3.39; Elimination Chamber’s got 3.23 stars. In large part because he skipped the two brief title bouts, Meltzer liked the February show better on average: 3.45, vs. 3.29 for Royal Rumble.
