WWE finally got around to acknowledging Keith Lee’s absence on Sunday afternoon, hours before the show where he and Riddle were set to challenge United States champion Bobby Lashley in a Triple Threat. Rather than just book the Bro is a singles match (which makes sense, as he’s recently failed to beat Lashley one-on-one), they booked a Fatal 4Way for the Elimination Chamber Kickoff show to determine Lee’s replacement.
Ricochet, Elias, John Morrison and Mustafa Ali were the men chosen for the match, and each entered ThunderDome shortly before the PPV portion of Feb. 21’s Elimination Chamber began. Ali did not enter alone, bringing his RETRIBUTION henchemen T-BAR, SLAPJACK & MACE with him. The group’s leader didn’t look like he’d need help initially...

... but it didn’t take long for RETRIBUTION to make a difference in the no disqualification match. SLAPJACK saved Ali from an Elias pin just minutes into the match. The group also took out Ricochet; an attempt to leap onto the horde after they interfered didn’t work out, and he was driven back first into the ring post.
While that was happening though, Morrison rolled Ali up.
Miz may have opted out of a title match tonight, but his running buddy won his way into one.
