Christian is getting a ton of love... and may get a title shot he’s owed, too

I knew my fellow Coalition members and I wouldn’t be the only people pumped to see Christian return to the ring at Royal Rumble this past Sunday night, but I didn’t realize how beloved the veteran is among his peers.

Much of it is summed up in this response from AEW’s Cash Wheeler (fka WWE’s Dash Wilder and Edge training partner) to a hater:

Cash’s thoughts drew a lot of support from around the industry, and this great supporting story from EC3:

The man himself humbly offered thanks:

Captain Charisma is still hinting at his future, even as reports are out that’s he’s back on at least a part-time schedule. The possibility of Christian working more than just the 2021 Rumble reminded lots of Peeps (notably the team at Fightful) that his last match before retiring because of concussion issues was a Fatal 4-Way for an Intercontinental title shot on the Mar. 24, 2014 episode of Raw.

He won that match, and with it a chance to face the Intercontinental champion. And as fate would have it, that belt is once again held by the man who had it six years & 11 months ago.

Big E remembers, and looks willing to honor his kayfabe commitment for the beloved really-freaking-already-should-be-a-Hall-of-Famer...

Will WWE adhere to its own continuity?

There are a lot of us who’d love to see it.
