NXT viewership gets a big post TakeOver boost

WWE on Twitter

The ratings and viewership data are in for this week’s (Feb. 17) NXT and AEW television shows.

Per PW Torch, Dynamite netted 747,000 viewers for a .31 rating point in the 18-49 demographic. NXT checked in with 713,000 viewers for a .16 rating point in the same 18-49 demo.

For AEW, this is a very slight increase of about 6,000 viewers from the prior week, with a rise from last week’s 0.29 demo rating. For NXT, viewership spiked up by 155,000 viewers from the prior week, and the demo rating rebounded from last week’s 0.12.

With Donald Trump’s impeachment trial now out of the news, NXT’s total viewership jumped out of the gutter. This was arguably the show’s second or third best showing over the last two months, and is a promising follow-up on Adam Cole’s betrayal of Kyle O’Reilly at TakeOver: Vengeance Day. The episode culminated with an injury angle that blurred the lines of kayfabe and reality.

AEW’s numbers remained very close to the same level from one week ago. Now that they have announced a Jon Moxley explosive barbed wire main event deathmatch for Revolution on Mar. 7, as well as Shaquille O’Neal coming in for a match on Mar. 3, they’ll look to increase these numbers in short order.
