Seth Rollins says he might be getting a new theme song

WWE.com

Roman Reigns has been wrestling shirtless for most of his current heel run. With so many changes coming to his character and presentation in the second half of 2020, it’s only natural to wonder if new theme music is also in the works. In September, Reigns teased that “hopefully down the line” he’ll be able to debut a new theme song.

We’re still waiting for that to happen. In the meantime, another Shield member is teasing that he might also have a new theme song coming his way. Here’s Seth Rollins appearing on WWE’s The Bump, talking about using his old “Burn It Down” theme music during his return to SmackDown last week:

“It’s weird...I don’t know that it fits as much with the [Messiah] character, but we’ll see what happens. Who knows? We might have a third music on the incoming. Not to give away any spoilers, but yeah, we used the ‘Burn It Down’ that night, and we’ll see where we go from here. I don’t know what the future holds, but it was good for one night to have the hot flames behind me.”

It’s easy to read between the lines and see that the return of “Burn It Down” was likely just for one night, because it was needed to create the illusion that Seth was turning babyface and getting away from his Messiah persona. Considering that Seth hasn’t changed his ways, and that he used the Messiah theme song in his actual WWE return at Royal Rumble 2021, I’m betting that’s the theme music we’ll hear tomorrow night (Feb. 19) on SmackDown.

We’ll continue to keep our ears open for an eventual new theme song for Roman and maybe Seth. As for the third Shield member, Dean Ambrose, I think his theme music in AEW works just fine for someone who is diving headfirst into explosive barbed wire deathmatches.

Are you excited at the idea of new theme music for The Messiah, or would you prefer a gimmick change first?
