WWE headlined this week’s episode of Monday Night Raw with a Gauntlet match that went the entire final hour to determine who would enter last in the WWE championship Elimination Chamber match this Sun., Feb. 21, 2021, at the Elimination Chamber pay-per-view.
AJ Styles and Kofi Kingston (who is in the match after defeating The Miz, who removed himself) started it off and the former emerged victorious after hitting the Phenomenal Forearm.
That brought out the champ, Drew McIntyre, who went on one hell of a run, eliminating Styles, then Jeff Hardy, and finally Randy Orton, though he had some help from Alexa Bliss and Bray Wyatt doing the usual mind game nonsense.
That left only Sheamus, who was fresh and ready to attack a tired McIntyre, who had spent over a half hour in the match. Naturally, he ended up winning, pinning the champ clean in the middle of the ring.
That’s not something we’ve seen often over the past year.
As mentioned, Sheamus’ reward will be to enter the Chamber match last this coming Sunday night.
