Once The Miz announced on Monday Night Raw this week that he was removing himself from the WWE championship Elimination Chamber match scheduled for this Sun., Feb. 21, 2021, at the Elimination Chamber pay-per-view (PPV), a replacement had to be found. He went to WWE Official Adam Pearce and lobbied for his tag partner, John Morrison, to take his place, though he doesn’t necessarily qualify under the “only past WWE champions” rule.
Kofi Kingston does, though, and he made note of this as Miz was trying to get Morrison a spot. Pearce simply booked the two in a match to settle it: A Kingston win would earn him entry into the Chamber match while a Miz win would earn Morrison entry.
After what was actually a damn good television match, Kingston hit Trouble in Paradise to score the pinfall and the victory. He’s in.
The updated title match at Elimination Chamber: Drew McIntyre vs. Randy Orton vs. Sheamus vs. AJ Styles vs. Jeff Hardy vs. Kofi Kingston.
See you Sunday!
