This is certainly one way to play it:

You know what? That might be the right play!
The Miz kicked off this week’s episode of Monday Night Raw, the go home show to the Elimination Chamber pay-per-view in just six days, and after an altercation with WWE Champion Drew McIntyre, he cut a promo revealing he is removing himself from the Elimination Chamber match for McIntyre’s WWE championship.
His reasoning is simple: he already has a guaranteed title match whenever he wants it — perhaps immediately after that Chamber match — and it makes no sense for him to work such a match. Why would he bother trying to go through five wrestlers to win the title when he really only needs to go through one, and he can give himself every advantage in doing so?
Furthermore, there’s a Gauntlet match scheduled for Raw later this evening to determine who enters the match last. Miz is, presumably, no longer in that match either.
Hell of a play from Miz here.
We’ll see who is chosen to replace him.
