WWE NXT TakeOver: Vengeance Day results - MSK wins the Dusty Cup

The finals of the sixth Men’s Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic at TakeOver: Vengeance Day was a classic babyface vs. heel match-up. MSK and Grizzled Young Veterans also gave us a great clash of styles.

Not that the high-flying Wes Lee & Nash Carter can’t grapple & brawl, or that BritWres practitioners Zack Gibson & James Drake don’t have some aerial moves in their arsenal. And we got to see both teams do both as they battled for the Dusty Cup, and a shot at the NXT Tag titles.

MSK took to the air early to re-energize the audience after the thrilling first two matches on the Feb. 14 card.

It didn’t take long for the GYV to divide and conquer their opponents, though. The Englishmen worked over Carter.

Lee eventually came in hot, of course. It was when his partner recovered and got back in that we saw the down-and-dirty side of MSK. Carter broke out the ground and pound, and it was answered by the Veterans when Drake hit a 450 splash on Lee.

After Lee was neutralized with a Doomsday Device on the floor, Carter looked done for after Ticket to Mayhem... but it was just the final set-up for a big comeback. That ended with a spinebuster/blockbuster combo, and the former Rascalz are rocketing to the top of the NXT tag scene.

Next up, Oney Lorcan, Danny Burch, and the Tag Team championship.
