WWE NXT WarGames results, live streaming match coverage

WWE NXT WarGames is all set to pop off tonight (Sun., Aug. 22, 2021) at 8 pm ET, live on Peacock and WWE Network! will provide LIVE blow-by-blow, match-by-match coverage of NXT WarGames below, beginning with the first match of the evening and right on through to the main event.

Tonight’s show comes our way from the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida and it’s looking like a fun show. While you’re waiting for the show to begin, dig into our predictions - as well as a preview of the entire card!

One can steal my thunder, want to put me on the cross. One try to hold me under, one brought me nothing but loss. One try to smoke me out at the stake, try to poison my wishing well, but I’m still here to liveblog this pro wrestling show for you, folks.

The show opens with the commentary team welcoming us to the show.

Cora Jade, Io Shirai, Kay Lee Ray, & Raquel Gonzalez vs. Dakota Kai & Toxic Attraction (Gigi Dolin, Jacy Jayne, & Mandy Rose) (WarGames Match)

Kai and Ray to start, brawling early, Kay knocks her off her feet with a dropkick, snap DDT out of the turnbuckles! Dakota doing some hardcore feng shui with kendo sticks in the gap between rings, grinding her face into the turnbuckles, but KLR slams her into the sticks and into the diamond plate as the countdown timer ticks...

Cora Jade is out third.

Attacking Kai with her skateboard, whip reversed, boot up, enzuigiri, helping Kay to her feet, snapmare, kick to the back, babyfaces working Dakota over but eventually she reverses a double suplex to a double DDT! The countdown timer ticks...

Gigi Dolin is out fourth.

She enters the ring with a backpack full of plunder and a trash can and throws it at Jade! Nobody home on the dive but she lands a dropkick, German suplex on KLR, stacking them up in the corner for stereo boots, babyfaces turn things around, Kai in a trash can and a KLR Bomb puts Gigi into the can!

Io Shirai is out fifth.

Shirai in with a pump kick but Dolin manages to cut her off and throw her into the steel cage wall, grinding her in! Desultory brawling, the countdown timer ticks...

Jacy Jayne is out sixth.

She slides a table in the ring, but soon enough Shirai is all powered up and hammering people with corner knees! Tiger feint kick, Jayne on the table, Jade off the top and she hits a senton atomico through Jacy and the table both! Cora injured, her shoulder bugging her, Io comes over to the door and shuts it, telling the medics and refs that she’ll take care of Jade.

Shirai grabs her wrist and steps on her chest to pull her shoulder back into joint as the countdown timer ticks...

Raquel Gonzalez is out seventh.

Gonzalez gets locked out briefly but uses a fire extinguisher to spray her way into the door being reopened and then she shoves Kai into a trash can and swings her around like a sack of garbage! Shirai and Kai climbing up top and we get a Io moonsault into a trash can at the end of the jockeying for position!

Gonzalez checking on Jade now, the countdown timer ticks.

Mandy Rose is out eight and the Match Beyond begins!

Rose goes after Jade’s injured arm but Shirai pulls her focus! Action everywhere, jockeying for position, Gonzalez with a powerbomb lift on Jayne, adding Dolin to her grip but Rose comes over with a kendo stick and wallops her! Gigi with a Frankensteiner into the corner, folding press but Cora returns and breaks it up with a kendo stick!

Jade desperately fighting back with kendo stick shots, but she gets overwhelmed and laid out with a knee to the injured arm... NOPE! She manages a roll-up...

Cora Jade, Io Shirai, Kay Lee Ray, & Raquel Gonzalez win by pinfall with a schoolboy from Jade on Jacy Jayne.

We get another vignette for Tiffany Stratton.

A Briggs & Jensen video package of them grilling and talking about what badasses they are and whatnot.

An MSK vignette recapping their journey to meet their shaman follows, and promises that we’ll get to meet this mystery man on Tuesday night.

The babyface WarGames team are show backstage talking strategy.

Imperium (Fabian Aichner & Marcel Barthel) (c) vs. Kyle O’Reilly & Von Wagner (NXT Tag Team Championship Match)

Barthel and O’Reilly to start, a bit of light mat grappling, cross armbar reversed into a schoolboy pin, tag from Aichner, arm bar into an arm drag. Wagner tags in and lights them up, Kyle tags back in and goes strike for strike with Fabian, front chancery, snap suplex!

Wagner back in, lighting Marcel up, Aichner tags in and hits a Finlay roll! Von staying in the fight, KOR tags in, knees aplenty, shoulder armbreakers and punches, back body drop to Fabian and he tags Von back in! Lariats and shoulder thrusts, action to the floor and more of the same!

Back suplex puts Marcel into the apron, KOR dives with a knee to Aichner, Wagner indise, big Olympic Slam... NOPE! Baseball slide cuts the big man off, tag to Barthel, thinking Imperial Bomb, denied and Wagner chokeslams them into each other! O’Reilly tags back in, off the top with a diving knee to Barthel’s ankle, heel hook applied in the middle of the ring!

Marcel punching his knee to try and escape, Aichner breaks it up with a moonsault! Guillotine choke applied, Fabian reverses, reversed back to a small package, Barthel shoves him over to reverse it... STILL NO! Trading kicks, both men down and out! Wagner and Barthel trading punches, Aichner with a chop block to the big man!

Total Elimination connects... MARCEL BARTHEL KICKS OUT! Aichner with a big dive on Von, back inside, powerbomb reversed, cross armbar, folding press reversed into a triangle, wrenching it in but Fabian powers up, deadlift... IMPERIAL BOMB! IT’S OVER!

Imperium win by pinfall with the Imperial Bomb on Kyle O’Reilly to retain the NXT Tag Team Championship.

Post-match, Kyle O’Reilly unloads on Wagner and lays him out!

Legado del Fantasma are interviewed while I’m in the bathroom, sorry y’all.

Cameron Grimes vs. Duke Hudson (Hair vs. Hair Match)

Hudson in control early, sending Grimes to the floor but he blocks and smashes Duke’s head into the steel steps! Back inside, Cameron running hot but he gets countered with a Rock Bottom out of the corner! Ground and pound from Hudson, Grimes gets back into it, kicks in the corner, action to the floor again and Duke suplexes him!

Stomping away, Cobra Twist applied, suplex reversed into a small package... NOPE! Knee to the back, pressing the attack with a backbreaker, Grimes gets the crossbody powerslam out of desperation... STILL NO! Out and back in, slingshot sunset flip, Duke reverses, hand on the ropes but referee Darryl Sharma catches him!

Cameron with a pinning predicament of his own, no good, some kicks connect, Hudson is staggered and eats a Poison Frankensteiner! Corner boot, diving crossbody... NOT ENOUGH! To the moon, countered with a Bossman Slam... GRIMES KICKS OUT! Crucifix powerbomb lift, reversed to a Frankensteiner...

Cameron Grimes wins by pinfall with a schoolboy pin.

Post-match, when Grimes goes to force Hudson in the barber’s chair, Duke overwhelms him and sits him down! Hudson has the clippers but Cameron wakes up, Cave-In, setting him in the chair... AND DUKE HUDSON GETS HIS HEAD SHAVED! After a couple passes of the clippers, Hudson runs away!

We get another video of Grizzled Young Veterans running scams.

Joe Gacy vs. Roderick Strong (c) (NXT Cruiserweight Championship)

Collar and elbow, Strong with a leg pick and Gacy scrambles back! Big slap across the face gets Roderick to unload him with punches and hit his first backbreaker of the match! Big chop, another backbreaker, Joe catches him with a northern lariat and hammers him with strikes!

To the apron, Strong trapped in the ropes and Gacy wails on him! Back inside, elbow drop, float over, a backbreaker of his own to Roddy! Lateral press for two, trading punches, Roddy with a gutbuster and an Olympic Slam for two! Boston Crab applied, Joe reverses to an arm-trap crossface but he’s in the ropes!

Harland lifts Ivy Nile up at ringside and Gacy has to talk him down! Back inside, Doctor Bomb connects... NO GOOD! Off the ropes, Roddy cuts him off with a jumping knee, End of Heartache...

Roderick Strong wins by pinfall with End of Heartache to retain the NXT Cruiserweight Championship.

We get a vignette of Ikemen Jiro eating an absolutely disgusting dinner and pooping his guts out.

Kyle O’Reilly is interviewed backstage.

He says he could see Von Wagner’s turn coming from a mile away and he’s stupid, so if Von wants to finish what he started, he’ll see him inside of the steel.

Bron Breakker, Carmelo Hayes, Grayson Waller, & Tony D’Angelo vs. DIY (Johnny Gargano & Tommaso Ciampa), LA Knight, & Pete Dunne (WarGames Match)

Hayes and Gargano to start, collar and elbow, Johnny with a side headlock, Carmelo reversed to a hammerlock, shot off, drop down, arm drag, Johnny Wrestling with the roll-through kick! Springboard gets cut off with a kick, back and forth in the gap between the rings and Gargano hits the Superman Spear!

Carmelo off the cage with a forearm, headed up top, Gargano with forearms in the corner, both men up on the ropes, smashing Hayes into the steel wall! Johnny with a cartwheel powerbomb off the ropes and the countdown timer ticks...

Grayson Waller is out third.

Waller right into it with Gargano, reversing a tornado DDT into a sheerdrop brainbuster! Tilt-a-whirl backbreaker, fireman’s carry, Johnny counters with a Frankensteiner and the roll-through kick! Carmelo back into it and they go to town on Gargano together!

They go for DIY’s finish and Johnny ducks and takes them both out with a two-for-one! Trick Williams throws a chair into the ring and climbs the steel to join his pal but Gargano takes him out with a chair shot! Beating on Gargano some more, the countdown timer ticks...

Pete Dunne is out fourth.

Dunne in hot, and a Crash Landing puts Hayes into Waller! Trading forearms with Carmelo, snap German and Gargano’s back in it, stereo crossfaces! Grayson running hot, Ace Crusher on Johnny Wrestling, the countdown timer ticks...

Tony D’Angelo is out fifth.

Trick helps Tony slide some tables in, Hayes chokes Johnny with a kendo stick while they throw trash cans and crutches and other plunder into the ring, and Dexter Lumis appears from under the ring to run Williams out! Tony has a steel chain and a lock and he secures the door!

Heels use all their newfound plunder to beat the babyfaces down as the countdown timers ticks...

LA Knight is out sixth.

But when Knight goes to the door he can’t open it with D’Angelo’s lock in place, but he climbs over the wall and comes in the hard way! Running hot, whip to the corner, neckbreaker on Hayes, throwing dudes around, kendo shots, putting a trash can on Waller and teeing off with a kendo stick!

Stomping the can, referees come and cut the illegal chain off the door while Dunne grinds the rim of the can into Grayson’s hand before following it up with a kendo stick, first into the hand and then into the ear! The countdown timer ticks...

Bron Breakker is out seventh.

Breakker in hot, destroying Knight with a powerslam, and Pete and Johnny take Bron out with a high/low shot! Breakker recovers and press slams Johnny Wrestling into everybody! Heels grinding them down while Tommaso Ciampa stews in the cage. The countdown timer ticks.

Tommaso Ciampa is out eighth and the Match Beyond begins!

Ciampa in hard, raging with trash can lid assisted knees on all the heels before taking a seat on a trash can for a brief respite. Hayes wakes up and attacks him, putting boots to him, and Gargano attacks Carmelo from behind with a crutch! Impromptu DIY reunion, tossing the crutch to Tom and he hits a Russian legsweep!

DIY doing the thing but Breakker cuts Gargano off by Rock Bottoming him into Ciampa! A bit of desultory brawling, the babyfaces battered in the middle of the rings as they begin to mount a comeback! Sandwiching the heels against the cage wall, they wedge a trash can in the ropes and Lawn Dart Hayes into it!

An avalanche belly-to-belly from LA puts Waller through a table! A tower of doom situation breaks out, Knight hits the snapmare driver... AND D’ANGELO BREAKS IT UP! LA going to town on Bron in the ropes, D’Angelo cuts him off with a superkick and puts boots to him!

Ciampa comes over throwing trash cans around to break things up... AVALANCHE AIR RAID CRASH INTO THE TRASH CAN BUT BREAKKER KICKS OUT! Tony with a fisherman’s neckbreaker on Knight, he sets a table up, Waller up on top of the cage... ELBOW DROP OFF THE CAGE AND THROUGH THE TABLE BUT DUNNE BREAKS UP THE PIN!

Tony has a crowbar but Pete meets him with a kendo stick and then goes off on Carmelo with it! Stomp to Hayes’ hand, a boot to the face, D’Angelo returns with the crowbar and traps Dunne against the steel with it. Pulling his mouthguard out, Tony stands up full height... AVALANCHE SWINGING NECKBREAKER WITH THE CROWBAR!

Bron and Tom trading strikes, Breakker hits the Frankensteiner, military press on Gargano, he escapes and hits One Final Beat on the Steiner kid! DIY have him lined up... MEETING IN THE MIDDLE CONNECTS BUT HAYES BREAKS UP THE PIN! Ciampa with a knee, underhooks... BRON SPEARS HIM THROUGH A TABLE LEANED IN THE CORNER!

The straps are down, Bron has Ciampa where he wants him...
