The Hip Hop ‘n’ Wrestling Connection grew stronger on Dec. 10. Hours before the legendary Hook walked out to Action Bronson’s “The Chairman’s Intent” on AEW Rampage, WWE announced that chart-topping, award-winning trio Migos will appear at its Day 1 PPV on Jan. 1, 2022 in Atlanta.

In addition to being talented and popular musical artists, all three members of Migos — Offset, Quavo & Takeoff — hail from Atlanta and its suburbs. While WWE still hasn’t landed their dream guest star in Offset’s wife Cardi B, this is good progress in President Nick Khan’s efforts to bring the company more in line with current pop culture trends. It should also help to sell a few more tickets and draw a few more eyeballs to Day 1, helping Khan’s rumored plan to make it a big annual event for WWE.
Migos’ song “Straightenin” is also one of the theme songs of Day 1.
