NXT 2.0 is a variety show

NXT remains a fascinating show, if only because it’s still trying to find its footing as what amounts to a new promotion in search of an identity. For this week, it became a damn variety show.

We got:

  • The Italian gangster from Chicago, Tony D’Angelo, as a special guest on Lash Legend’s talk show
  • Josh Briggs & Brooks Jenson playing a game of horseshoes
  • Cameron Grimes and Duke Hudson playing a game of poker
  • MSK hanging out at a bus stop
  • Robert Stone and Xyon Quinn having a singing/dancing competition]

There were matches too, of course, but NXT truly feels like it bounces all over the place, sometimes with little direction. That should clear up as time moves along and they figure out what works best.

Here are all the videos from NXT this week:

  • Io Shirai stands up to Mandy Rose’s toxic actions
  • Cora Jade vs. Dakota Kai
  • MSK want to turn to man behind the curtain
  • Xyon Quinn shows Robert Stone who is the better man
  • Joe Gacy and Harland are here to change the world together
  • Kay Lee Ray brings the rage next week
  • Bron Breakker vs. Andre Chase
  • Tony D’Angelo joins “Lashing Out with Lash Legend”
  • Solo Sikoa vs. Jeet Rama
  • Josh Briggs & Brooks Jensen bond over horseshoes and cornhole
  • Cameron Grimes steps into Duke Hudson’s Poker Room
  • Von Wagner & Kyle O’Reilly vs. Legado del Fantasma
  • Grayson Waller vs. Boa
  • Carmelo Hayes interrupts NXT Champion Tommaso Ciampa
  • Johnny Gargano & Dexter Lumis vs. Carmelo Hayes & Trick Williams
  • Toxic Attraction is a force to be reckoned with
  • Kyle O’Reilly calms an explosive Von Wagner after loss
  • Johnny Gargano sends a warning to Carmelo Hayes
  • Together Kushida & Ikemen Jiro are Jacket Time
  • Legado Del Fantasma is the total package
