WWE RAW RESULTS AND LIVE BLOG FOR NOV. 29

Inhaled sugar there, dancing through the sweet air ‘til our breath began to quake. I took several takes, melting in the cold air and yet I gave you the shakes. Spinning for you, ‘cause you’re so cool. You’re so cool that our tongues got stuck, but me, I’m stuck liveblogging this here pro wrestling show.

The show opens with Seth Rollins making his entrance and a long recap of Seth-related events of late.

He gets on the mic and says after last week we might expect him to be in a bad mood, but he’s Seth freakin’ Rollins and no one can keep him down. But he’s got a special reason to be in a good mood tonight, he’s got a secret. Breaking news, in fact! He polls the crowd on it and asks for a drum roll...

It’s official, at Day 1 in Atlanta, Georgia, he’ll challenge Big E for the WWE Championship!

It’s the first day of a new year and a new era and in his next championship reign.

Enter Finn Balor.

He hits the ring and immediately takes Rollins down and pounds him! Seth runs away, Finn gives chase and crossbodies him over the barricade! Back into the ring, Rollins off the ropes and he hits a suicide dive but Balor hits Sling Blade on the floor in return!

Taking the steel steps, Finn hits him in the dome with them! Back inside, he’s ready to start but referee Shaun Bennett has to check on Rollins. Seth is ready to go and we have a match!

Finn Balor vs. Seth Rollins

Rollins immediately bails to the floor, Finn hits a tope con giro, and we go to break!

Back from commercial, Balor spikes Rollins with a DDT... NOPE! Headed up top, Seth cuts him off, following it up with the superplex / Falcon Arrow combination... NOT ENOUGH! Up top again, frog splash, Finn gets the knees up! Double leg into the double stomp, another nearfall!

Sling Blade denied, Seth hits his own, superkick... NOPE! Lying in wait, charging in, Balor hits the Sling Blade to counter! Shotgun dropkick, headed up top, nobody home on the Coup de Grace! Sidestep Blackout, schoolboy for two, malfunction at the junction and both men are down and out!

Trading forearms, rolling elbow gets a Pele kick gets an enzuigiri, ripcord knee blocked and turned into an inverted facelock elbow drop! Inverted facelock number two, 1916 blocked, Death Blow, off the ropes...

Seth Rollins wins by pinfall with Blackout.

We get a recap of Becky Lynch taunting Liv Morgan to the point of tears from last week.

Becky makes her entrance wearing a muppet-skin coat and we go to break.

Back from commercial, Vincent Kennedy McMahon welcomes Austin Theory into his office.

Vince congratulates him on his effort against Big E last week and tells him they’re gonna watch the show tonight together to look for surprises, and warns him that if he ever steals from him again, he’ll kill him.

Becky Lynch and Sonya Deville are in the ring for the contract signing.

Sonya introduces both women and Liv Morgan makes her entrance.

Lynch says she wanted to get Morgan angry to see if she had that chip on her shoulder and she has to admit she has a hell of a right hand, but then what happened? Nothing, she held herself back like always, and one punch ain’t enough to win a title, but Liv knows that too.

So what happens when it’s time for the big fight? Will she hold herself back or prove Becky wrong. She already signed the contract and has nothing to prove, and asks Deville to confirm the timing for the match, which is next Monday night on Raw. She runs Liv down for not getting the big time PPV slot and tells her she doesn’t think she’s ready for the match in the first place.

Morgan yells at her to shut up and signs the contract before saying if Becky wants her to unleash, she will, and she used her fists instead of becoming a big blubbering mess, not like Becky opposite Charlotte. And she even brought the video! We get video of a sobbing Becky Lynch in the immediate aftermath of her Survivor Series match, talking through her feelings.

Liv calls her a baby and Becky sets her jaw and accuses her of being the reason all her friends are gone, fired to make room for Lynch’s big fat contract. She calls Becky everything she once despised, and unfortunately for her, Morgan says she learned from all her past mistakes.

She’s not the Becky she once admired and Liv isn’t the girl she left behind, and if that last punch wasn’t enough, maybe this one will work, and she goes to slug Lynch but Deville breaks it up! Becky writes off her tears as post-match emotion and says she deserves her paycheck, and she says she pitched a ten-woman tag for tonight, with them as captains of their respective teams.

Sonya throws up a graphic of the teams and Liv says Becky’s too selfish to ever be a real leader, and to consider her challenge accepted.

Randy Orton is backstage when Matt Riddle rolls up wearing a “Hey Raaandy” shirt and confused as to where Orton’s shorts are.

After last week he was expecting Randy to show up dressed like he does, given how things went all Freaky Friday. He recounts how last week went and blathers on until Orton cuts him off to call him more braindead than he initially thought. But he softens and says he appreciates what Riddle is trying to do and he’s concerned with being ruthless enough to keep the titles.

Matt says he understands and begs Randy to close his eyes. When he does, he puts a blonde wig on Orton’s head. Randy tells him he’s got two seconds to take it off his head and Riddle obliges. Orton tells him never to do it again.

RK-Bro make their entrance and we go to break.

Dirty Dawgz (Dolph Ziggler & Robert Roode) vs. RK-Bro (Matt Riddle & Randy Orton) (c) (WWE Raw Tag Team Championship)

Dawgz bum rush Riddle out the gates and start to work him over with a quick tag and a powerbomb / neckbreaker for an early nearfall! Matt sidesteps a corner body avalanche from Ziggler and crawls and makes the tag! Orton in hot, lariats, snap scoop powerslam, Dawgz drag him to the floor but he fights them off!

Back suplex, Dolph lands on his feet and hits a superkick! They lay Riddle out on the table and we go to break.

Back from commercial, Orton is being isolated by the Dirty Dawgz. Neckbreaker from Roode gets two, push-ups to intimidate the Viper, knee to the back and a reverse chinlock applied to try and grind Randy down! Orton gets away and makes the tag! Riddle in hot, ripcord knees and Pele kicks!

Corner forearm to the exploder suplex for Ziggler, Roode gets the same, and then sentons to both guys! Off the ropes, Penalty Kick on Dolph, kick and a hanging DDT to Robert on the apron! Orton tags in, the tag champs go to that special place, stereo RKOs denied, Zig Zag... ORTON KICKS OUT!

Randy blocks a kick, roll-through...

RK-Bro win by pinfall with an RKO from Randy Orton on Dolph Ziggler, retaining the WWE Raw Tag Team Championship.

Seth Rollins is walking backstage when he runs into Kevin Owens.

KO tells him that if he wins his match against Big E tonight he’s going to be added to the title match at Day 1. Rollins is incredulous and Owens tells him to go ask five-time NWA World Heavyweight Champion Adam Pearce.

Edge makes his entrance to send us to break.

Back from commercial, Seth Rollins predictably rolls up on Adam Pearce to ask him what the hell Kevin Owens is talking about.

Pearce feigns ignorance and Rollins explains. Adam says he hasn’t seen KO and he’s lying.

Rollins leaves and Sonya Deville rolls up.

She says it’s not a bad idea to put Owens in the match if he wins and Pearce shrugs.

Edge is in the ring and gets on the mic.

He says he’s back and the last time we saw him he was surviving a war in Hell in a Cell against Seth Rollins and now he’s #1 contender and he hates to admit it, but he thinks Rollins deserves it and he’s on another level right now. But he’s here to talk about how he’s on Raw in Long Island, and he’s got a whole new set of opponents to sink his teeth into.

Men like AJ Styles, Kevin Owens, Finn Balor, Damian Priest, and Big E, and it’s really exciting because everything’s wide open.

Enter the Miz, accompanied tonight by Maryse in matching Miz and Mrs. gear and heralded by a Dancing With the Stars hype reel.

Miz gets on the mic and complains about Edge getting the big comeback treatment and berates Edge for his career made of comebacks. He talks about how he represents WWE day in and day out and what does he get for his trouble? And now he’s not even on Edge’s radar?

Edge apologizes and says he thought Miz was still painted like Genie and dancing, and Maryse steps in to put her husband over as being the best dancer on the whole show, which gets Edge to point out he came in like ninth. Miz says everyone knows he won but the WWE fans forgot to vote for him.

Edge tells him they could have went to Adam Pearce and demanded the match they think they deserve, but instead Miz chose to interrupt him and put himself right into the main event picture. He could take the easy route and get the crowd to shout “Miz sucks!” at the count of three, and he does.

Miz points out that he held the WWE Championship in the last year and asks when the last time Edge held a title was, before pointing out that he was the opening match when he defended the WWE Championship at WrestleMania 27 against John Cena. He puts Edge’s in-ring over and says this time, he should have stayed home for good.

Edge says Miz is right that he’s dancing with a body that can’t do it anymore, the window is small and closing, but he fought with everything he has, and now everyone in that locker room wants to test themselves against him because of the mutual respect they hold and that Miz knows nothing about.

And he could have that, but instead he waltzes down here bitching and whining and asking for a pat on the back. Edge will give him the pat on the back, and he means it honestly, when he says that he came from Tough Enough all the way to the main event of WrestleMania and beat John Cena, and yeah, Edge jerked the curtain that night.

Miz has people on other shows saying his name for a cheap reaction and he’s made it further and higher than anyone thought he would or could. But the big difference between them is that he fought to get his window back, but Miz uses it to get notoriety for his next outside endeavor.

But the biggest difference is Miz comes out here and expects respect, but Edge earns it.

Miz and Maryse back off.

AJ Styles and Omos as interviewed backstage.

Styles is wearing dark glasses and claims he can’t see and Omos had to trim his beard this morning. The doctors aren’t sure he’ll get all his vision back after the Street Profits sprayed chemicals in his eyes, and he promises them they’ll get burned.

Street Profits make their entrance and we go to break.

Alpha Academy (Chad Gable & Otis Dozovic) vs. Street Profits (Angelo Dawkins & Montez Ford)

AJ Styles and Omos make their entrance as the match is about to begin and join commentary.

Dozovic and Ford to start, Otis working Montez over and tagging Gable in. Heat segment just about rolling when Ford breaks away briefly and gets the tag after a struggle! Dawkins in hot, big half nelson exploder suplex on Gable! Corkscrew elbow, Drill Bit, tag out but the Alphas drop Angelo on the floor!

Ford dives on ‘em, Styles miraculously leaps up and gets on the apron but Montez knocks him down! Gable up with him, jockeying for position, off the top...

Street Profits win by pinfall with the frog splash from Montez Ford on Chad Gable.

Omos looks disappointed at Styles afterwards.

Back to Vince McMahon’s office with Austin Theory.

He walks Theory through why the Profits saw Styles’ interference coming, again hammering the expectation of the unexpected.

A recap of last week’s 24/7 Championship business follows.

Dana Brooke is hanging out backstage with Reggie.

Damian Priest makes his entrance to send us to break.

Back from commercial, Kevin Owens is on his phone when Seth Rollins rolls up to crow at him about lying about his match tonight.

KO insists that he’s not lying, and says if he wins tonight, he WILL be in the title match at Day 1.

Apollo Crews vs. Damian Priest (c) (WWE United States Championship)

Priest with early arm drags into an armbar, Crews bails to the floor, Damian follows around after him but Commander Azeez gets in the way and Apollo blasts the champ with a knee off the apron as we go to break.

Back from commercial, Crews with a powerbomb into a standing moonsault... NOPE! Right hands, Priest fires back with strikes of his own, springboard spinning wheel kick... NOT ENOUGH! Up on a shoulder, Dominator... STILL NO! Crews bails to the floor, Priest dives on him but when he comes back in Azeez trips him up and gets ejected by referee Darrick Moore for his trouble!

Priest goes to that special place and unloads on Apollo with punches and kicks! South of Heaven connects, inverted facelock...

Damian Priest wins by pinfall with Reckoning, retaining the WWE United States Championship.

Backstage, Seth Rollins rolls up on Adam Pearce and Sonya Deville.

He says he doesn’t want to stooge but they probably should do something about Kevin Owens, and Pearce breaks it to him that KO will be added to the title match at Day 1 if he wins tonight. Seth unloads on him and screams his way offscreen.

The Mysterios make their entrance to send us to break.

Hurt Business (Cedric Alexander & Shelton Benjamin) vs. the Mysterios (Dominik & Rey Mysterio)

Benjamin and Dominik to start, veteran grinding him down with a waistlock, Mysterio fights out, springboard lucha arm drag but he gets run over with a shoulder block! Half nelson backbreaker, tag to Alexander, running hot on the younger Mysterio as our heat segment develops.

Tag to Rey, in hot, tijeras, roll through a sunset flip, buzzsaw roundhouse to a low dropkick, cover for two! Whip reversed, la casadora victory roll sets him up, tag made, Shelton in place as well... STEREO 619! Off the top...

The Mysterios win by pinfall with a frog splash from Dominik Mysterio on Cedric Alexander.

We get a recap of our contract signing from earlier, because Raw is three hours long. (Three hours long.)

Team Liv make their entrance to send us to break.

Back from commercial we get a recap of last week’s SmackDown.

Team Becky (Becky Lynch, Carmella, Doudrop, Tamina, & Zelina Vega) vs. Team Liv (Bianca Belair, Dana Brooke, Liv Morgan, Nikki ASH, & Rhea Ripley)

Morgan and Lynch to start, Liv with a wicked elbow to the jaw, a dropkick, corner knee, and a facebuster! Becky turns her around, boots in the corner, solebutt, tag to Carmella. Matrix evasion, schoolboy pin, only two, kick to the gut, whip across, Mella with a mat slam!

Tags made, Ripley on Vega, sunset flip denied and Zelina immediately tags Carmella back in. Tag to Lynch, who tags Doudrop in, who tags Tamina in and the match breaks down! Snuka manages to keep Rhea down and chokes her with a reverse chinlock, Samoan drop blocked, Ripley gets a lariat and tags out to ASH!

Tag to Brooke, tag to Morgan, tag to Belair, babyfaces using the same strategy that was used against them! Up for KOD, heels save their partner and we go to break.

Back from commercial, Doudrop is in control on ASH, trading strikes, tag to Lynch and she hits the leg drop > elbow drop > turning leg drop combo but Nikki rolls out of the way of the last one! Carmella in with back elbows, ASH returns the favor but Mella overwhelms her with forearms into a reverse chinlock!

Nikki gets away and tags Ripley in! She clobbers Carmella with an elbow right to the face and referee Danilo Anfibio has to check on her! Smashing her face into the mat, the match breaks down but Rhea holds her own against everybody! Cravate knees, snapmare but Mella rolls away from a dropkick, drop toehold, Code of Silence is in but Dana Brooke breaks it up!

Running blockbuster, the match breaks down into “everybody do something cool” territory, Lynch from behind, inverted DDT on Morgan but Ripley dumps the champ! Turning back to Carmella, pumphandle, she escapes, superkick but Rhea kicks out and we go to break!

Back from commercial, Snuka and Brooke are legal, and Dana rolls away for the tag to Morgan! Kick combo on Tamina, she gets swatted down but hits the inverted Codebreaker, forcing Lynch to break it up! The match breaks down with folks getting into it on the floor, Doudrop takes ASH out with a lariat but eats a beatdown from Ripley!

Brooke up top with Vega, and Carmella joins them to shove Dana off the top and into her own teammates! Liv with a dropkick to Mella, STO for Zelina, forearm for Lynch, turning to Snuka she gets nailed with a superkick... SO CLOSE! Inverted surfboard stomp connects...

Team Liv win by pinfall with Oblivion from Liv Morgan on Tamina.

Post-match, Becky attacks Liv and Doudrop attacks Bianca as chaos reigns! Morgan takes Lynch out with Oblivion!

In Vince’s office, McMahon berates Theory for looking away from him and asks if Becky’s team expected the unexpected, noting that if you’re expecting a surprise and don’t get a surprise, you’re screwed. Austin smiles and nods and looks away again and gets yelled at.

And so we go to break.

Back from commercial, we get another Veer Mahaan vignette.

A Bobby Lashley hype reel follows.

Big E is interviewed backstage.

He says he fears no man nor Kevin, but if it’s a triple threat it IS a little more difficult to retain his baby, so he’s gonna have to beat KO tonight and rid himself of this duplicitous scourge and go on to beat Seth Rollins in Atlanta.

Kevin Owens makes his entrance to send us to break.

Back from commercial we get some hype for tonight’s episode of Raw Talk.

Vince asks Austin Theory if he’s had a good time, and Theory says he had a great time, and he learned you gotta be prepared for surprises and expect the unexpected. McMahon says he got it and gets up to say good night and slaps him in the face!

Austin holds his jaw and Vince tells him he has a lot to learn.

Big E vs. Kevin Owens

Seth Rollins makes his entrance wearing a suit that is very pink and joins commentary for this one.

Off the ropes early, big back elbow gets E a one-count. Striking away, Owens schoolboys him for a nearfall, front kicks aplenty, off the ropes, chop block takes the champ off his feet and he punches away at Big’s knee! Pressing the attack, senton to the knee, E fires up and gets back to his feet for forearms!

To the floor, KO smacks the headset off of Rollins, Seth pops up to the apron but realizes he’s being baited and he sits back down! Kev with a short-arm lariat, headed up top, E comes over to meet him and they slug it out! Big lariat on the apron, clubbing blows, splash on the apron!

Back inside and back out again, Owens hits a DDT on the steel steps and we go to break.

Back from commercial, Owens has a reverse chinlock applied and E fights to his feet and out with body blows! Chops from Kev, off the ropes, a lariat wipes him out and Big starts putting it back together! Putting E into the corner, up top, jockeying for position, superplex connects... NOPE!

Reverse chinlock, knee lift, trying to keep Big off balance but he hits the trifecta of belly-to-belly suplexes! Hip swivel, off the ropes, big splash but the knees are up! Back and forth, off the ropes again, big splash! Putting Owens to the apron, E runs into a knee, KO charges in... CANNONBALL!

Cover for two, piefacing the champ, trading forearms, superkick knocks Big down... NO GOOD! Float over the Big Ending, Kev hits the pop-up powerbomb... BIG E KICKS OUT! KO heads up top but breaks away to beat Rollins up at commentary! Putting boots to him something fierce, back inside, snapping E’s neck over the top rope!

Kick to the gut, Stunner blocked, superkick connects but Big comes off with ropes with a lariat for two! Seth jumps KO in the ring...

Kevin Owens wins by disqualification, earning a spot in the WWE Championship match at Day 1.

Post-match, Rollins beats KO down until he rolls out of the ring and then hits Blackout on Big E!

Rollins tears his suit off in frustratoin while Owens crows about having goaded him into handing him a spot in the title match.

That’s the show, folks.
