WWE NXT RESULTS AND LIVE BLOG FOR NOV. 22

Continuing the story, humanity stumbles— gone is the glory, there’s a far distant rumble. The clouds have gathered and exploded now, axes shattered, there is no north or south. Far off, the ice is foundering slowly, but me? I’m just here to liveblog this here pro wrestling show.

The show opens with Grayson Waller in the ring and on the mic.

He points out that Tommaso Ciampa isn’t in the cold open and he’s not larger than life or a superstar like he is, and he berates the crowd for booing superstars like himself and John Cena. Speaking of Hollywood, he wants to talk about the Rock, who also he complains gets booed out of town. And don’t get him started on Roman Reigns!

He gave everything for us and we booed him and now he’s Head of the Table, and that tells him that Twitter freaks don’t matter, but superstars do.

Enter Tommaso Ciampa.

They have a match, I guess?

Grayson Waller vs. Tommaso Ciampa

Feeling out, Waller with slaps and Ciampa fires back with vicious punches and kicks! Running knee follows, action to the floor, chopping Grayson against the lexan and throwing him back inside. More chops in the corner, raining mounted punches down, but Waller trips him up and gets a neckbreaker to turn the tide!

Raining down punches, whip reversed and Tom drops him with a back elbow! Off the ropes, another neckbreaker, targeting Ciampa’s injured neck with punches and a choke in the ropes. Cranking his neck over the bottom rope, boot up on the charge, duck a leg lariat, taking the elbow pad off and Grayson does the People’s Elbow but Tom rolls away!

Off the ropes, lariats, corner lariat, Ciampa running hot and he clotheslines Waller over the ropes and to the floor! Following around with a lariat on the floor, throwing him over the announce desk and we go to break!

Back from commercial, both men are down and out and slowly rise to their feet, trading chops. Shove into the corner, back elbow cuts him off, short-arm DDT from the NXT Champion, underhooks blocked, jackknife pin... NOPE! Bridging Oklahoma roll, no dice, Ciampa rolls through and knees him in the face!

Waller manages to get him up for a sitout spinebuster, only two, up to the second, Tom cuts him off with a right hand! Climbing to join him, jockeying for position, Grayson up on a shoulder... AVALANCHE AIR RAID CRASH CAN’T KEEP WALLER DOWN! Backslide, roll through, underhooks, reversed into cravate knees!

Argentine backbreaker rack... INVERTED FINLAY ROLL! Up top, diving elbow... NOPE! Ciampa to the floor, Grayson takes him out with a tope con giro, rolling thunder blocked, he ends up on the apron for Willow’s Bell! Underhooks...

Tomasso Ciampa wins by pinfall with Fairytale Ending.

LA Knight is interviewed backstage.

He goes off on a tirade about how Waller sucks and that’s just a fact of life.

Joe Gacy rolls up to say they should be building each other up, not tearing each other down, and they end up agreeing to a match?

We get a recap of Duke Hudson’s poker loss to Cameron Grimes to send us to break.

Back from commercial, we get a video from earlier of Toxic Attraction walking backstage.

Mandy Rose talks about how Cora Jade doesn’t belong in the same ring with her and is a poser and Dakota Kai joins them, silent but acting weird. They run into a pile of assorted kibble and plunder and broken glass and walk past to reveal that Kay Lee Ray is smashing things with a baseball bat.

Cameron Grimes makes his entrance, well-groomed (by his usual standards)

He’s emotional as he gets on the mic, tears streaming down his face. He talks about growing up in an extremely small town in North Carolina, and people would push him down and tell him he’s not good enough, but he showed them he is good enough and if he scratches and claws it doesn’t matter how many nights he slept on concrete and scraped for change, he showed people that he holds it down.

So he made it in this industry and struck it rich, and through it all he kept his hair and beard to remind him of where he came from, the times he was crying by himself and he had nothing. He tells Duke Hudson that he took all that away and humiliated and embarrassed him, but where he messed up is he made him angry.

He wants Duke to come to the ring right now, because he’s done talking.

Hudson appears on the tron from a barber shop.

He says he almost didn’t recognize Grimes and why is he mad? Last week he won a lot of money and got a free haircut, he should be thanking him. He’s trying to transform him from a troll that lives under a bridge to a decent, normal human being. Cameron wants him to come to the ring and settle it like a normal human being.

Duke says he’s not interested, sorry not sorry. Grimes says he gave him a chance to show how big his balls were, but he just proved that he’s gutless and nutless. And he challenges Hudson to a hair vs. hair match at WarGames. Duke accepts and says at WarGames, he’ll take the rest of his hair.

Pete Dunne cuts a promo telling Johnny Gargano he’s going to send him packing and he’s going to make Carmelo Hayes pay his dues as he wins the North American Championship.

Indi Hartwell and Persia Pirotta are interviewed backstage.

Indi says Johnny’s gonna take the title to avenge Dexter Lumis tonight, and again Persia says she can sit this one out if she likes, but Hartwell wants to fight. She dedicates her match to her husband and we go to break.

Indi Hartwell & Persia Pirotta vs. Kacy Catanzaro & Kayden Carter

Pirotta and Carter to start, feeling out goes nowhere, tags made. Catanzaro and Kayden overwhelm Hartwell briefly but they get Kacy in the corner and work her over at some length. Carter in, sidewalk slam from Hartwell but she gets caught up in looking at her hand and they knock her down and capitalize...

Kacy Catanzaro & Kayden Carter win by pinfall with an electric chair splash on Indi Hartwell.

We get a video package for Legado del Fantasma.

LdF make their entrance and we go to break.

Back from commercial, Andre Chase is leading his students on a tour of backstage when he runs into Cameron Grimes and they have a little back and forth.

Malik Blade vs. Santos Escobar

Circling, Escobar with a go-behind, clubbing blow, Blade with a dropkick and a brief rally but Santos overwhelms him, corner knee, fireman’s carry...

Santos Escobar wins by pinfall with a fireman’s carry Michinoku Driver.

Elektra Lopez gets on the mic and runs Xyon Quinn down for turning her down and now that Santos is back, the Legado is stronger than ever.

Enter Von Wagner and Kyle O’Reilly.

They say they’re gunning for the tag titles, and Wagner points out he was pinned with his foot on the ropes and that means they have unfinished business.

Imperium come out of nowhere to run down their would-be opponents and say the era of Imperium will continue no matter who challenges them first.

Backstage Cora Jade is getting ready when Io Shirai, Zoey Stark, and Raquel Gonzalez roll up to bicker at her.

Jade tells them to focus on finding a fourth for WarGames while she goes and kicks Toxic Attraction’s ass, and we go to break.

Back from commercial, Tony D’Angelo is interviewed backstage, preening and posturing.

Cora Jade vs. Mandy Rose

Jade hard out the gate, corner knee gets a spinebuster and Rose starts to turn the tide. Clubbing forearms in the corner, standing neck crank and into a bodyscissors, all in the name of grinding Cora down. Jade rallies, tijeras, snapmare out of the corner, cover for two!

Cora off the second with a senton but nobody’s home! Kay Lee Ray comes down with an aluminum baseball bat and throws it into the ring as a distraction...

Cora Jade wins by pinfall with a folding press.

Carmelo Hayes and Trick Williams cut a promo about why Hayes is going to retain the North American Championship tonight.

Joe Gacy cuts a promo about bringing LA Knight into his safe space, and we go to break.

Back from commercial, Cora Jade is celebrating with her WarGames teammates when Kay Lee Ray rolls up to pledge herself as their fourth for WarGames.

Grayson Waller attacks LA Knight during his entrance and referees have to pull them apart! Knight charges through the crush and beats his rival down.

Joe Gacy is in the ring and he apologizes because he wishes he could have shown LA Knight how to handle his anger issues peacefully, so instead he’s going to take some time to discuss how we could fix—

Enter the Diamond Mine.

Malcolm Bivens says he doesn’t think the match is happening and since he tried to steal his spotlight last week, they’re going to do the same to him. Ivy Nile has a match, so he should take his thesaurus-reading ass and step out of their ring.

Gacy says he respects that Nile has a match tonight and the show must go on, but he doesn’t appreciate their tone, and furthermore the cruiserweight championship is exclusionary and triggering to those of a certain body type.

Roderick Strong cuts him off and says he doesn’t fear anyone and he doesn’t care about his nonsense, and Bivens says Strong will challenge Gacy to a match at WarGames.

And so we go to break.

Back from commercial, we get another MSK vignette as they head off in search of their shaman.

They get pulled over for driving way too slow, and the arresting officer orders them out of the car, where they freak out about going to prison and revealing what’s in their bag. But fortunately, the officer lets them off with a warning and they drive off.

Ivy Nile vs. Yulisa Leon

Nile suffocating Leon and showing off initially, Yulisa gets a hope spot but Ivy turns her right back around, lariat into a waterwheel slam, falling right back into a figure four headscissors and doing situps, Leon manages to cartwheel out of it, but Nile catches her...

Ivy Nile wins by submission with a behind-the-back Dragon Sleeper ala Jason Kincaid’s Compassionate Release.

Grizzled Young Vets are walking backstage and they lift some dude’s wallet.

Dude immediately ends up back on frame as Waller and Knight brawl through, referees still trying to pull them apart!

And so we go to break.

Back from commercial, Boa gets a promo where he explains that Mei Ying has passed on her strength but he doesn’t know how to control it yet, and when it does, everyone will know.

Briggs & Jensen (Brooks Jensen & Josh Briggs) vs. Grizzled Young Veterans (James Drake & Zack Gibson)

Drake isolated early while the good ol’ boys work him over, some interference from Gibson lets him slap Jensen across the face and roll back in for the tag! Zack in, shoving Brooks into the ropes, reverse chinlock applied as we see Knight and Waller continuing to tear things up backstage.

Jensen with a back suplex for some separation, tag back to Drake, he cuts off the tag but Briggs tags in hot and runs roughshod! James’ leg goes out from under him, Gibson is up top, Josh boots him down and Drake uses the leg to try and beg off but Briggs gets a butterfly backbreaker!

Off the ropes...

Brooks & Jensen win by pinfall with a Total Elimination on James Drake.

Johnny Gargano makes his entrance to send us to break.

Carmelo Hayes (c) vs. Johnny Gargano vs. Pete Dunne (NXT North American Championship)

Gargano and Dunne trading submissions early on, shot off the headlock, drop down, leapfrog, drop down, Johnny stops himself short! Big lariats from Hayes, putting boots to Gargano in the corner but he gets cut off by Pete with a toehold! Dunne stacks Johnny on him, double ankle lock!

Gargano out, shoulder armbreaker, looking for a Cobra Twist and Carmelo springboards in on both guys! Clubbing away on Johnny Wrestling, Peter comes back in and trades forearms with the champ! Gargano with a bulldog / lariat combo, dives out both sides of the ring, slapping five with the front row and charging around to take Dunne out with a tijeras to send us to break!

Back from commercial, all three men down and out and taking turns slugging it out, Dunne and Gargano team up on Hayes and get into it with each other! Pete fires up, triangle on Hayes, getting dragged into the corner and Gargano breaks it up with a dropkick! Back body drop to the apron, Superman Spear immediately into a stomp to the hand, roundhouse, Bitter End... REVERSED INTO A DDT FOR TWO!

The match breaks down a bit, lungblower into a twisting suplex that puts Pete into Johnny but Gargano kicks out! Back and forth, Poison Frankensteiner from Gargano takes Dunne out, big knee to Carmelo, scooping him up... LAWN DART! Superman Spear sidestepped this time, Bitter End connects... TONY D’ANGELO PULLS DUNNE OUT OF THE RING!

Hayes up top...

Carmelo Hayes wins by pinfall with a diving elbow drop on Johnny Gargano to retain the NXT North American Championship.

Post-match, a brawl breaks out, Waller and Knight spill through, Trick Williams puts Johnny’s hand on a steel chair and Hayes goes up top—

BUT CIAMPA IS HERE WITH A CHAIR TO HELP THE BABYFACES CLEAR HOUSE!

Tom pulls Johnny up while “WarGames” chants go up.

Bron Breakker interrupts and squares up with the heel side and yells WarGames before a brawl breaks out again.

That’s the show, folks.
