WWE NXT RESULTS AND LIVE BLOG FOR NOV. 16

Run, you better run, you better run like the devil’s on your back. Hide, you better hide, you better hide from the wind and the sun, because master’s calling and taking over. The walls are falling, and you can’t make it on your own but me? I’m just here to liveblog this pro wrestling show for you, folks.

Dexter Lumis vs. Tony D’Angelo

Dexter has drawn a caricature of Tony sleeping with the fishes.

D’Angelo bails at the bell and leads Lumis in a chase around the ring. Back in, duck some axehandles, he’s got a boot scouted but Dexter slaps him across the face to set up a Lou Thesz Press into punches! Falling axehandles, Tony gets a comeback but a dazed Lumis wakes up into the arm triangle!

Tony fights out, Dexter with punches into a corner lariat, D’Angelo tries to bail and ends up hitting a jawbreaker in the ropes. Getting Lumis’ easel, referee Aja Perera takes it from him but he rakes the eye...

Tony D’Angelo wins by pinfall with a fisherman neckbreaker.

Post-match, Carmelo Hayes and Trick Williams jump Dexter and beat him down as Tony shrugs and walks off. Codebreaker sets up a leaping lariat and Hayes puts boots to him as Trick goes and gets a steel chair! Threading his arm through the chair... PILLMANIZER!

And so we go to break.

Back from commercial, we get a recap of what we just saw.

Johnny Gargano is in the ring and he calls Carmelo Hayes out for making things very personal.

Originally he just wanted to win the title from him to prove he’s better, but he screwed with his family, and if you screw with his family, he kicks your teeth down your throat. He knows Carmelo is still here, so he calls him down to meet face-to-face.

Enter Pete Dunne.

He tells Johnny he didn’t need his help—

Enter Carmelo Hayes and Trick Williams, standing in the stands.

They mock Johnny and Pete’s bickering and Hayes says he’ll keep it real, if it weren’t for the A Championship, they wouldn’t be relevant. Dunne says he’s the same age with ten more years of experience and a win over him, so he wants another match.

Gargano suggests a three-way and all parties seem satisfied.

Commentary hypes up tonight’s poker showdown.

We go backstage with the Diamond Mine.

Malcolm Bivens postures briefly before Joe Gacy rolls up.

Joe tells Roderick Strong he has an obligation to keep the door open to opportunities, and Bivens tells him they have tryouts in two weeks and he can pay like anybody else. Gacy takes his card and we go to break.

Back from commercial we get an LA Knight vignette where he talks about how he’s a megastar regardless of whatever accoutrements he has and Grayson Waller derailed his path to the NXT Championship and he’s coming for him.

Diamond Mine (Brutus Creed, Julius Creed, & Roderick Strong) vs. Jacket Time (Ikemen Jiro & KUSHIDA) & Odyssey Jones

Jiro and Roddy to start, Strong throws him around but he wants Jones and Ikemen is happy to oblige! Roderick bails and tags Julius in, trying to take Odyssey’s back, he gets slung off and dropped with a lariat! Babyfaces working quick tags, but Julius gets away and tags his brother in.

Brutus throws Jiro around, tags made, KUSHIDA clearing house on Roddy, but when he gets caught up in handling the Creeds, Strong is able to cut him off and send us to break.

Back from commercial, Jiro in a bad way as the Creeds work him over, but he gets away and Jones gets the hot tag! Dropping Strong, throwing a Creed into a Creed, Roddy gets an Olympic Slam on the big man! Jacket Time running interferences to keep the Creeds away, Odyssey in there...

Jacket Time & Odyssey Jones win by pinfall with a crossbody from Jones on Roderick Strong.

Grizzled Young Veterans are video chatting with Zack Gibson’s grandma, claiming to be the new NXT Tag Team Champions and crowing about securing the lion’s share of the inheritance and leaving to go return the title belts to Toxic Attraction.

Andre Chase makes his entrance to send us to break.

Back from commercial, we get another MSK vignette covering their journey to meet their mystery guru.

Their... “supplies”... make it through the scanners and Wes Lee screws it up by switching flights so they have to travel separate. But they make their flights and hug about how they missed each other before going off to meet the shaman.

Andre Chase vs. Xyon Quinn

Chase with a mat grappling advantage, riding Quinn early and slapping the back of his head. Front kick caught, big delayed Atomic Drop, a lariat, a pounce, not enough and Andre turns it around with stomps. Reverse chinlock applied, Xyon fights out and lies in wait...

Xyon Quinn wins by pinfall with the Jackhammer.

Post-match, Joaquin Wilde and Raul Mendoza attack Quinn and beat him down! To the floor, he starts to recover and fights them off two for one until Santos Escobar blindsides him! They hold Xyon up and Elektra Lopez tells him nobody turns her down before they slam him on the steel!

And so we go to break.

Back from commercial, Raquel Gonzalez is interviewed.

She says she hasn’t had a good night’s rest since before Halloween Havoc, and the title becomes a part of you, but one shot to the back ripped all that away from her. Tonight is all about revenge, and she’s gonna bury Dakota Kai with her own shovel.

Cameron Grimes vs. Duke Hudson (Poker Showdown)

We’re informed this is no-limit Texas Hold ‘Em and get a quick explainer of the game flow.

Hudson says luck is for losers and this may not be his poker room but this is his ring and he’s gonna make Grimes his bitch. Cameron says those are big words but everyone here can see he’s nervous.

Grimes has a king and a three and bets five hundred. Hudson has two fives and raises him a thousand. Cameron calls and we get the flop, and that’s a five, a jack, and a ten. Another round of betting, we’re up to a ten thousand dollar pot. Queen of spades in the turn, Grimes is excited, and the pot ends up at eighteen grand as the river is revealed to be a seven of hearts and the onscreen graphic says Duke has 100% chance of victory.

Cameron, despite having no chance, is cocky and goes all in before asking Hudson if his balls are canteloupes or raisins. Duke loses his mind over Grimes’ smile and accuses him of having a flush, and Cameron says if he’s so sure, he should make the right call and fold.

Duke says he won’t get got and he folds.

Cameron Grimes wins by bluffing.

Grimes doesn’t want to show Hudson his cards but he pulls them off the table and turns them over, apoplectic that Cameron beat him with a nothing hand. POWERBOMB INTO THE POKER TABLE!

Duke goes under the ring and gets a toolbox, and pulls out a hammer before discarding it in favor of a pair of scissors. He goes in the ring and hacks away at Grimes’ hair and beard with the scissors.

Kyle O’Reilly rolls up on Von Wagner and says he saw him on SmackDown but he’s not worried about it, because they work on Tuesday nights. Wagner says he’s ready to hand business and we go to break.

Briggs & Jensen (Brooks Jensen & Josh Briggs) vs. Kyle O’Reilly & Von Wagner

O’Reilly and Jensen to start, Kyle probing kicks, Brooks counters with a scoop and a slam but the elbow drop misses. Shot off, blind tag, double lariats and KOR is off his feet! Off the ropes, slide out, double punches and Brooks & Jensen bump fists while Imperium watches from backstage.

Wagner tags in, collar and elbow, big men shoving at each other, O’Reilly back in, precision kicks, whip reversed, a boot clears the apron but another wipes Kyle clean out! Brooks with an elbow drop for two and he follows it up with the bear hug! I can hardly bear it!

Quick tags, maintaining the bear hug, KOR boxes the ears and tags out! Von in with kicks and punches, into the ropes, short-arm lariat! Big lifting reverse STO, O’Reilly with a low bridge and a diving knee to take Briggs out, Wagner with underhooks...

Kyle O’Reilly & Von Wagner win by pinfall with a butterfly neckbreaker from Wagner on Brooks Jensen.

Imperium cut a promo backstage about how Kyle and Von are getting better but nobody can challenge them for the tag titles.

Indi Hartwell and Persia Pirotta are outside the trainer’s room, worried about Dexter Lumis.

Persia tells her she has this and to go be with her husband, and we go to break.

Back from commercial, we get a new episode of Lashing Out with Lash Legend.

She talks about Kay Lee Ray and tells her to realize there’s three of them and only one of her, and Grayson Waller rolls up and crashes the show with some tea to spill. He says LA Knight has said he hasn’t paid his dues, but this business isn’t about wins and losses anymore, it’s about likes and followers.

Sigh.

Persia Pirotta vs. ??? & ??? (Handicap Match)

Sorry y’all, I didn’t quite catch Persia’s opponents names here but this is a handicap match that’s more about Robert Stone watching and scouting than the actual action.

Persia Pirotta wins by pinfall.

Dakota Kai is interviewed backstage.

She says it felt really good to hit Raquel with a shovel and she’s been lost since TakeOver, her mind cloudy and the only way to end that is to purge her past.

Toxic Attraction roll up and Dakota tells them that they owe her twice before storming off.

Grizzled Young Veterans roll up and hand the titles back and try to claim that they got the titles off some tech guys who were running a scam curiously identical to their own from earlier.

Tommaso Ciampa cuts a cranky old man promo about how these kids these days have no respect before abruptly stopping and getting up to go to the ring and send us to break.

Back from commercial, we get a hype reel for Kacy Catanzaro and Kayden Carter.

Tommaso Ciampa makes his entrance, mic in hand.

He calls out Carmelo Hayes and says he knows that if he takes a shot in his direction, he’s gonna miss. Then there’s bitch-ass Grayson Waller talking about working the indies like it’s a bad thing and he’s above that, well he’s got an idea what he can do with his hot dog.

Then there’s Tony—

Enter Bron Breakker.

He bets Tom can’t stand that there’s a new crop of talent around, but that means nothing to him, because he’s the only one he should worry about, and he’s gonna run through him and take the NXT Championship. Ciampa is mock impressed and says somewhere there’s a guy in a truck who could pull up footage of the ending to their match at Halloween Havoc.

Tom rolls the footage and says the way he sees it, Bron has less than a 33 and 1/3 chance of ever taking the title from him, and you can bark up the tree all you want, but you’re just a puppy and he’s the NXT Champion.

Raquel Gonzalez makes her entrance to send us to break.

Dakota Kai vs. Raquel Gonzalez

I have some computer issues that lead to a restart but Gonzalez is in control early and dominates Kai until she gets away and throws her into the post to send us to break!

Back from commercial, Kai pressing the attack, a nearfall, handful of hair and screaming, Raquel gets her up for a chokebomb! Lariat and a boot, Dakota with some smart evasions, Gonzalez catches the Scorpion Kick and looks for a stretch muffler but Kai counters.

Dakota desperately blocking a suplex, she puts Raquel into the exposed turnbuckle! Kai goes to the floor and gets the shovel, bringing it into the ring, but Gonzalez won’t let her use it! She takes it away from the referee but before she can use it, Toxic Attraction hit the ring and beat her down...

Raquel Gonzalez wins by disqualification.

Toxic Attraction press the attack until Cora Jade makes the save with her skateboard! Mandy Rose manages to cut her off with a lariat and they beat her down and lay her out!

Zoey Stark makes her entrance on crutches and Io Shirai follows after her, grabbing a crutch to equalize things and beat Toxic Attraction down!

The babyfaces run them off and stand tall.

That’s the show, folks.
