Zelina Vega, Carmella advance in Queen’s Crown Tournament

@WWE

The first round of the first ever Queen’s Crown tournament got underway on this week’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown in San Jose with two matches featuring wrestlers from the blue brand trying to advance to the semifinals of the eight-woman tournament.

Get a look at the full bracket right here.

First up, Zelina Vega took on Toni Storm, who was given a new presentation as someone who fashions herself as a “wild child of the 80s.” She promised to win the tournament and rule with the boldness of Joan Jett, the tenacity of Bruce Springsteen, and the epicness of Madonna, all in the name of, well, making a name for herself. She lost to Vega in mere minutes.

Next, Liv Morgan tried to use fresh tactics to deal with Carmella, who was back to using that ridiculous face mask to protect herself as “the most beautiful woman in all of WWE.” She broke a Cone of Silence submission by ripping at the mask. Later, though, she was kicked in her own face and that was enough for a three count.

Vega will meet Carmella in the semfinals on next week’s episode of SmackDown.
