When Hit Row were called up to the main roster in the WWE Draft, with all four being selected to wrestle for Friday Night SmackDown, it called into question what NXT would do about the North American championship. The fact that the new rosters don’t take effect until Oct. 22 gave them time to figure that out.
It appears that could mean Isaiah “Swerve” Scott will be dropping the title to Santos Escobar, as the two have been booked to fight for that title on next week’s episode of NXT TV.
Elsewhere, Joe Gacy could be getting an even bigger push than we could have imagined. He confronted Tommaso Ciampa backstage about wanting to get involved in the NXT title picture and was met with a challenge for a match next week.
If Gacy wins, he’ll be added to the already scheduled Ciampa vs. Bron Breakker match at Halloween Havoc on Oct. 26.
Finally, Von Wagner will team up with a still reluctant and untrusting Kyle O’Reilly to take on the team of Pete Dunne & Ridge Holland.
Sound like a good show?
