The WWE Draft dismantled the women’s tag team division

WWE.com

The 2021 WWE Draft is officially in the books, and one thing immediately stands out about the results - there is only one women’s tag team left on the main roster. Rhea Ripley and Nikki A.S.H. are the champions of a division that now includes zero other teams for them to face.

This happened because Shotzi & Nox were inexplicably split up during the draft even though they defeated the former tag champs on three separate occasions throughout the summer without ever receiving a title match. Those former tag champs are Natalya and Tamina, and they were also just split up in the draft. When you add on top of that the breakup of Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler in the weeks leading up to the draft, the end result is the WWE women’s tag team division has been completely dismantled.

With only one women’s team left in WWE, it’s worth asking the obvious question. Why does this division continue to exist if WWE cares so little about it?
