WWE Draft 2021 results, round 10: Gable Steveson a surprise pick for Raw

Here’s how round 10 of the 2021 WWE Draft played out:

1. Raw: Carmella
2. SmackDown: Ridge Holland
3. Raw: Gable Steveson
4. SmackDown: Sami Zayn

“There is a god, my prayers have been answered. Don’t pinch me, because I don’t wanna wake up.”

That was color commentator Corey Graves’ response to word that Carmella would be coming over to Monday Night Raw. The two are a couple outside of pro wrestling and there have been times that has crossed over to on screen.

More importantly, NCAA champion and Olympic medalist Gable Steveson was drafted to the red brand. He has spent precisely zero time on television, for any brand, but WWE clearly thinks it has a top star in the making and this represents his first introduction to the TV audience proper.

SmackDown, meanwhile, gets a NXT call up in Ridge Holland, who will apparently be leaving Pete Dunne behind, and Sami Zayn, who will surely have plenty to say about being the last pick in the televised portion of the draft.
