Charlotte Flair calls out women’s locker room in first SmackDown promo after controversial title exchange

If you were one of many wondering what would happen with Charlotte Flair on this week’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown after the kerfuffle caused by the controversial title exchange segment last week, WWE ensured you didn’t have to wait long.

The SmackDown women’s champion opened this week’s show with a promo.

“Well, well, well, the more things change, the more they stay the same,” she started. Then she launched into a spiel about how she doesn’t even keep track of her title reigns anymore, everyone else does because they simply cannot do what she does.

Then she called out the women’s locker room for how they act all giddy about winning a title, like it’s the biggest accomplishment of their career. When she does it, though, it’s just another Friday.

It was a pretty good line.

She only briefly referenced last week’s drama, calling it exactly that, before claiming the blue brand needs someone to bring out the best in those on the roster and that’s what she’s here to do. That’s when Sasha Banks arrived to once again establish she’s first in line for that title.

Flair rebuked that idea, claiming it’s time for a new challenger to emerge. That’s when Shotzi hit the scene, hoping to get in the mix. Charlotte agreed to a “championship contenders match.”

It seems, then, the drama of last week is already laid to rest.

Although Survivor Series is still just around the corner...
