WWE opened its Crown Jewel event in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia today (Thurs., Oct. 21, 2021) with the highly anticipated Edge vs. Seth Rollins trilogy fight, the final chapter in their rivalry, where the two devils would go to battle inside Hell in a Cell.
They continued telling the story of Rollins’ desperation to showcase his superiority over Edge, because that’s how he could separate himself from comparisons between the two. That played into his viciousness in the match, including spots like stabbing the leg of a chair into Edge’s eye.
Thankfully, no extraction, word to Rey Mysterio.
Edge got his in too, though:

The #HellInACell wall just proved VERY valuable for @EdgeRatedR as he sent @WWERollins crashing through a table! #WWECrownJewel pic.twitter.com/qIQJZjLweQ
As they’re wont to do with matches like this, they made it an epic, with both guys trading big shots, getting more tables, ladders, and chairs involved. Toward the end, they harkened back to the finish at Madison Square Garden, where Edge took multiple superkicks before a Curb Stomp. This time, Rollins wrapped his boot in a steel chain before going for it.
He delivered one superkick with the chain on.
When he went to deliver the Curb Stomp, with a chair under Edge’s head, the “Rated-R Superstar” used that chair to low blow Rollins, stopping him in his tracks. Edge got a superkick of his own, then he brought the bar in to submit Edge with the crossface but decided against winning that way. Instead, he put a chair under Seth’s head and used his own Stomp against him.
That was enough to finish it.
Once and for all.
