When Carmelo Hayes won the North American championship from Isaiah “Swerve” Scott last week, it was with the understanding there would be no rematch. That’s because Hit Row was called up to the main roster to work on Friday Night SmackDown, and that’s where they’ll be moving forward.
So who would Hayes’ first program be with?
How about a former North American champion?

While Hayes was cutting a promo about the kind of champion he wants to be, Johnny Gargano hit the scene to say that he’s lost his way. His wife is pregnant, Indi Hartwell got married to Dexter Lumis, and Austin Theory was called up to Monday Night Raw. He needs something to get himself on the right track.
That something, he thinks, is going back into the past to try to win the North American title once again.
No match was made official just yet but it’s clear that’s where we’re headed.
