Seeing as it involves both the man he currently counsels AND the one he used to(?) advocate for, Paul Heyman wasn’t going to let a huge main event like Crown Jewel’s go by without offering one of his famous “that’s not a prediction, that’s a spoiler”s.
Along with a video recapping the latest chapter in Roman Reigns & Brock Lesnar’s long rivalry, Heyman posted one on Instagram page yesterday (Oct. 18). You’ll note that Paul E. is extremely careful not to name names when spoiling the outcome...
The video ends with the segment from the Oct. 8 SmackDown, where Reigns made Heyman “tell the truth” and cut a promo to the camera about how he would retain on Thurs., Oct. 21 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. But the caption wraps up with the promise he’ll leave Crown Jewel with adjective-free WWE Universal Heavyweight champ, which could be interpreted as meaning a new WWE Universal Heavyweight champ.
It’s written so that is he’s confronted about - by a fan, or Roman, or Brock - he can talk his way out of it. Or as Seth Rollins would say, “Paul Heyman-ing” his way out of it.
It’s quite clever. Probably devious, but clever.
