Zelina Vega advances to Queen’s Crown Tournament final

@WWE

Zelina Vega and Carmella, who defeated Toni Storm and Liv Morgan, respectively, met in the semifinals of the inaugural Queen’s Crown Tournament during this week’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown. It was something of a surprise that these two advanced, considering they’re both heels who had previously aligned, if only briefly.

Turns out, they used that in the story here. Vega put her over before the match, then made clear she had no intention of breaking Carmella’s face so she didn’t have to wear that ridiculous mask.

Of course, that fell apart mid-match, when they attacked each other in the face. Carmella tried to put her mask on, Morgan showed up to ensure she couldn’t and scare her back into the ring, and Vega used that to roll her up and score the pin.

That surely won’t stave off criticism of how they’ve treated this tournament, especially considering the Balor vs. Zayn match from earlier.

Vega will meet the winner of the Shayna Baszler vs. Doudrop match on Monday Night Raw next week in the final at Crown Jewel on Oct. 21 in Saudi Arabia.
