A kayfabe knee injury ended Goldberg’s match with Bobby Lashley at SummerSlam. Then we heard it was cover for a legit knee injury, and the man himself told us he needed surgery.
But at the same time, he also told us he needed to kill Lashley for putting his teenage son Gage in the Hurt Lock. He hasn’t stopped talking about that since, and the two are set for a No Holds Barred showdown at Crown Jewel next Thursday (Oct. 21) in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
So what’s up with the knee? On the CarCast pod he does with Adam Carolla, Goldberg provided an update:
“Knee’s much better. Hopefully it’ll be — I won’t be completely healed by then [Crown Jewel] but it’ll be, suffice to say, in good enough shape to kick Bobby’s ass. Let’s just say that.”
Heading into SummerSlam, the Hall of Famer said he had two more matches on his contract with WWE. So he’ll likely be able to take some time off after next week to get his knee fixed - and to renegotiate a new deal with Vince McMahon.
